Nursing Mamas TTC December - Page 3

Hi everyone! I am finally back, hoping to start TTC again next cycle once my TSH is normalized. It's been very hard (emotionally) to break from TTC but I've had a lot going on. In a nutshell, I had a total thyroidectomy about 2 weeks ago. Just got the results and they did find a tiny malignant tumour (interestingly not the suspicious one, which ended up benign). It was caught very early so I will not be needing radiation. I am incredibly relieved as this would have delayed our TTC plans for a long while and, given my age, possibly ended that dream. I am soooo ready to get back in the saddle, so to speak ;)

hug2.gif to you ms_quoted for your recent loss. Here's to lots of sticky December beans!

I am still getting used to the new format....a bit of a technophobe here. Some day in the near future I hope to add a siggy once and for all! innocent.gif

I want a light-up belly button too!  But I want one that blinks for ovulation and stays on for pg. twins.gif  Wouldn't it be so nice to just know!

Welcome back peaches!  Yay, for being back in the saddle!  So glad that your surgery went well and you don't have to have radiation. My BFF had thyroid radiation years ago and they had to wait to TTC for years afterwards. . .luckily she was still young and they now have a healthy and happy LO (their #3), but I know how stressful all that can be.

AFM--I am feeling so PMSed!  splat.gif  Seriously, I had forgotten how this feels.  Have yet to know whether this feeling will actually lead to my  first PPAF or not. . .I hope so, might as well get my cycles back if I'm going to feel this way!  It's weird though, b/c it was just in the past coulpe days that I noticed some EWCM, and now I already feel PMSy and crampy. . .so either I'm going to have a super short LP (can it be just 2 days?) or a really long PMS or my body is just playing tricks on me.  Bah.

And I had a very vivid dream last night about getting a BFP.  Sigh.

I am so tired of waiting for ppaf this stinks.... My sil says oh you are so lucky that ppaf stays away so long you should be happy.... I wish mine would. She gets ppaf back at like 3 months with her first and then 4 months with her 2nd... She knows we are ttc. I just want to cry... :( it has been 29 days since I took my last provera pill and not ppaf or pg. Maybe be I should go to my doc and get him to check my hormone levels and get another rx for provera... :(

Ugh, that is just plain insensitive of your SIL. At this point I want to throw things at the computer screen every time I read one of those "be careful, you could get pregnant while bf" lines on informational website! I am in the same boat...I've been waiting for over a year now. Can you tell me about Provera and the hormone check? I wonder if I will end up with a prescription for that. I weaned totally almost 3 months ago and nothing. What is Provera supposed to do?

I was thinking of hqving my doc check my prolactin  levels to see if that is why no ppaf... and Provera is to bring on ppaf but it didn't work for me...

Here is what levels should be at different times in your cycle... http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html

littlestinkers - I hope af finds you soon.

gozal - provera is to bring on af. But some dr's will not prescribe it if you are breastfeeding. It seems to work differently for different people. I had no signs of af returning, took provera & immediately started & haven't needed to take it again to induce af.

I got a + opk today. I expect to ovulate Monday. That is the only good thing about having done this many clomid cycles is that I can FINALLY somewhat predict when I might o. Luckily my Mom took ds for the day so dh & I had a lot of alone time for a change.

Question: what day do you count as o - the day your temp goes up or the day before since the temp increase indicates o has already happened?

Oh no Ms_Quoted, I'm so sorry you lost your baby. :(

I'm currently 10DPO. Could I be moved to waiting to O, please?

Peaches Mom: I am so sorry they found cancer but hopefully now that you had surgery, it is all gone and you will be A OK!! My mom's friend hd miscarriage after miscarriage last year. They finally found thyroid cancer (while she was early into another pregnancy) and removed it. She went on to have a healthy baby. It had been the reason she coudln't carry a baby. So I hope that now you will have success in your journey TTC!!!

AFM: Cycle day 8 here. Starting the fertile window. Yay! Doubt I will O on day 11 again since I am not taking soy this month. But I typically do O around day 12 or 13 on my own so we will see. I did soy the last 2 cycles when I wasn't nursing so I don't know for sure yet when I will. I'll start OPKs tomorrow. I also go see my OB tomorrow to formulate a plan!!

FX that this is your cycle Cindy!

I really think I am ovulating for the first time!  Dang, I wish I had ordered those OPTs a few weeks ago. . .some are coming in the mail either Mon or Tues, but it may be too late by then.  Unless, I don't actually ovulate and just spend a lot of time in "gearing up" mode.  But I have so many signs now of O, EWCM, some weird pelvic pains, my cervix is high and open for the first time PP, and my nipples have been sore/sensitive. Have other BFing mamas had sore nipples around O?

I guess I'l know soon enough if I did ovulate.

i just know i o'ed. havent felt like this in a long time. the emotions, the crampy pains in my ovaries. i have been getting nauseas every evening. tingly sensations on my breast.

put me in 2ww. i am convinced. my temps are still up. i even have super smell. and then the clincher. i took a nap today. i never feel that tired during the day. i would be 5 dpo. i am going to start testing in a couple of days.

blech. CD1 It's freakin' heavy too. Please move me to waiting to O.

My consolation prize is that I managed to extend my cycle by two whole days (got to day 24!), and my LP was a super long 7 entire days (instead of 4!). So, what I'm doing is working and I will have better luck this time... right?

I geared up FOREVER to ovulate, but never had sore nipples. Then on Thanksgiving they started to get sore and every day, throughout the day, it would get more and more intense (at one point I told my hubby I wanted to rip them off..lol) but finally 4 days later I DID O! And they were sore for another 4 days after. That was always my key symptom that I was about to O when I was nursing my middle child too. You are about to O anytime!

Thanks for all the info, littlestinkers & lifeguard!

Am I the only one who gets no breast tenderness at all, ever? I mean, they were tender at the beginning of breastfeeding, but never during cycles or pregnancy. (Am I trying to find more symptoms to look for? Oh yeah.)

I have a question regarding temping and bfing.

I just started taking my temps again because I thought I was o'ing, but not sure. Anyway, I take them at 6am. I still co-sleep and I still nurse. Does that matter? Does nursing/co-sleeping screw up the results? So many moms say that they don't temp because they are still nursing/co-sleeping.

I had some CM for the past week so I just figured my body was gearing up. (DS is 11 months old.) I poa OPK last Tuesday and it was negative.

I took my temperatures for the past 4 days and they were as follows:

97.3, 97.4, 97.5, and today 97.8

I won't say I o'd because I could be 97.3 tomorrow. I've never had normal cycles.

What do you ladies think?

Does sleeping next to my baby make for inaccurate temp results? I nurse him but usually he can sleep from 7pm-4am before he nurses again. And mostly I stick the boob in his face, just so I can get him to sleep until 6am when it's time for everyone to get up.

Sorry this rambles. I'm just not sure what is going on.

Hi There!  I am a nursing mama to an almost 22 month old DD.  I still have not had a postpartum AF, but I think I have some signs that my body is getting ready to ovulate.  We have been casually trying to catch the first pp egg since May.  Not in a big rush, but last month was the first month I was a tad sad when my monthly progo test was negative.  DD just started sleeping through the night 1.5 weeks ago.  It is magical to get so much sleep!  So, you can add me to "waiting for first pp egg"!
