21 month old nursing baby, frequent ear infection

I have 21 month old nursing baby and he seems to get ear infection often.  I don't know how many times so far this year but he had one a month ago and he was diagnosed again in a month and now taking the same antibiotics.  I was researching to find out if I can do any home remedy or other venues to help him. 

Anyone has any experience with this situation?

Are you off dairy? Dairy VERY commonly causes excess mucous leading to ear infections.

Food intolerances make it more likely that when a child is sick, their ears won't drain well and they'll get infected.  Dairy's a really common trigger but it can be any food intolerance (I proved that with my kid who's intolerant of chocolate    ).

To stop the cycle, a fair number of people have had good results with a combo of food elimination and finding either a chiropractor or someone who does cranial-sacral therapy.  Just CST alone stopped my DD's EIs when she was an infant, I think we had 4-6 sessions total.

I had luck with eliminating dairy - my DS#1 had had a few ear infections, weaned when he was 9 months old and i used a dairy based formula - when he turned 1 i took him off all dairy (used soy milk, rice milk etc...)  then started dairy back slowly when he was 2 ...it worked for him!

Do you dress your child appropriately when she is outside? Do you put a hat on her that covers her ears when it is windy or cold outisde? When a person is cold, his immune system is not working 100% and therefore his body cannot fight infections effectively.  Quite frankly, I almost never heard of otitis media in my home town located in the Eastern Siberia; and I did not know of any kids who suffered from it but then we were ALWAYS wearing hats that protected our ears during winter/spring/fall seasons. Just a food for thought....
