December 30 Somethings TTC #1 - Bajingo Juice Christmas Club - Page 8

Hi everyone! Posting from a Barnes and Noble in Grandma's town...no internet at her place.

Been thinking about all of you. Hope the holidays were the merriest and relaxing, too. :) With healthy boundaries!

Val, hope you enjoyed your snowday. Miss those in AZ! I am going to see a specialist, I think, I got a recommendation from a friend and it's definitely time to be rid of this sickness. Hope the clomid is going well for you and Bel.

Taxlady, aaah, you're in France! That's crazy. Thanks for thinking of us and checking in, I hate it when the computer eats my replies, but it does happen to all of us. I was talking to DH who is a computer programmer about how we wish there was an easier way to reply to individuals on this board. Too bad he has a real job and can't solve that problem and all the technical problems I have at school. Hope you DH is enjoying his time away from his kiddos. Also, you are probably enjoying some teacher-spouse time off. I am the first to admit that it's not easy being married to a teacher.

Jolly, what a big trip back to the states that must've been, I hope you guys had safe smooth travels. When are you going back to China? I am SICK of urgent care doctors, I have gotten so many stupid lectures about not using antibiotics and my regular doctor thinks that since I'm asthmatic, that it IS an important precaution. I really doubt it's allergies? The viruses are really virulent this year.

AFM, I'm still waiting to O (cycle two of soy, hoping it'll be pretty early), haven't really seen the signs and didn't bring OPKs. We'll probably start trying as soon as we get home. Our flight out of Duluth is tomorrow at 5 a.m. There's supposed to be some weather but hopefully we'll beat it. DH had a good moment of clarity last night and told me even if we conceive in six months, it is still good for us as far as timing and we just need to be patient. =P

Miss you all! grouphug.gif

Like was said previously, thinking of all of you on the East coast or anyone whose travel or loved one's travel was interrupted.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.  I'm running on three hours of sleep today (late flight home yesterday + jet lag + work at 8 AM this morning) and am experiencing some serious brain fog, so I'm going to make this short and sweet.

hola.gif to the new EWBJers,  hug.gif to everyone AF is currently torturing, and fingersx.gif for those who are about to O or are in the 2WW!

And for heaven's sake, Boots, get better!

I am off to the grocery store as there is currently nothing edible in my kitchen.  I promise to post some personal responses as soon as my mental clarity returns.

Love you ladies!

I just want to say that I love this group!     grouphug.gif

JlyGrnMig  -  I agree, and it's the fact that you wonderful gals responded to me and I feel involved in everyone's stories/ lives.  Also, you might appreciate (entomology) that when I got my one tattoo 13 years ago, my main thing was I wanted a real looking butterfly with the veins in the wings and all the legs and antlers (not cartoon like)!  lol

Bel - Well to answer, I tuned up while reading your asking me if I'm emotional...  just kidding!  But yes, I'm a very sensitive girl!  ha ha

Taxlady - Thanks and you're my neighbor when you're home!  I live about 2 hrs from L.A.

Val - I'm not sure how to share my chart.  On fertilityfriend.com there is a box on the left that says share & you re supposed to enter an email address. Is that how I do it?

OK, therapy 101 with the ladies:

I believe I mentioned that my cousin (that lives 2 min from me) had her second son 4 weeks ago (I would have been due in March).  My cousin also goes to my Grandma's every Sunday but I am a little detached with him, whereas with her first son 4 years ago I had my camera out every second and was so in love with him.  I've only held her new baby once!!!   Luckily at my Grandma's every week she usually has to go in the other room to breastfeed several times so and then he sleeps most of the rest of the time.  I stare at him and say how adorable he is but I feel badly that I have a wall up with him.   The thing is, I sat in her hospital room (she was induced after being 9 days late) for 10 hours while she was in labor (hope someday mine goes as smoothly as hers did)

December get prego plan:  Has anyone tried Deanna's Egg meets Sperm plan?  It's for women that have been pregnant before.  It involves BD'ing every other night starting CD8.  Then once you get a positive OPK, you BD that night, plus two more nights in a row.  Then skip one night and one more for good luck... We did that plan for December and it obviously didn't work...

January get prego plan:  After all my girlfriends suggested it to me, I purchased Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  Now according to this book, it seems that the four or five days before and day of ovulation seem to be the most fertile (as opposed to Deanna's three days after) so that is my BD schedule this cycle.  I am currently on CD 8.

The past 2 weeks the Abominable SNOREman has been sleeping in living room, so I need to get him back in the bedroom by Fri night. sleepytime.gif

Does that sound right to you experienced gals?  Sorry to be a bother but I have two days.  lol  BD Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues?         bump.gif

On fertility friend it estimates my ovulation on mon, cd13, dec 3  but on babyhopes.com's ovulation calendar, it predicts it on Tues, cd14, dec 4.   As you know, the key is to get it done before you ovulate, and so I'm going into CONTROL mode.  lol

***I wish I could show you guys my underdeveloped chart to see if I'm even doing things right!     BFPChart2.gif

Hi Caly!  love your pic!!

Sorry, Ladies, one last entry (for now).  On fertilityfriend, the name of my chart is "Shellhawk - Project Baby".  I've looked at how to add friends or give you my chart web address, but I'm still not getting it.  If you happen to see my chart on there... Awesome!!

I'd love to check out everyone else's charts to better understand (and I mean I already feel so close to all of you... whats a couple of charts between friends)!!

Boots - aaawww  Have fun at Grandma's!!!

I think I figured it out!

Shellhawk - I tried to look at your chart, and can see that it says Shellhawk_Project Baby, but I can't actually see the chart??  You have to go to the Sharing tab on the left of the screen and then select home page set up, but maybe you did and something is just not working right.  I think 'they' recommend BDing after ovulation in case you get the ovulation date a little wrong, and I guess there's a chance that the egg could survive a little while, but from what I've read it seems like pre-O is more important as the sperm can live a lot longer than the egg.  Hmmm.  Something is weird with this reply, I can't hit enter to start a new line, everything just runs together, so sorry about that!  Birdie - I know what you mean about pregnant people everywhere too.  Every time I talk to my parents they tell me someone else I grew up with is expecting!  I don't think they're being mean, and I'm sure they were just the same befoer we started TTC, but I definitely notice it everywhere now.  A girl at my work is due in Feb and she was on the pill when she got pregnant, of all crazy things.  Well, this not being able to separate my comments is getting kind of annoying, so I will sign off.

Hi Shellhawk!  smile.gif   I can't see your chart either, but Boggles is right about BD timing.

Ok.. I think it is the shared internet at the "hotel" we're staying at that is messing up my posting!  Good thing it is not me  ya know? winky.gif

I mean, I can at least post right if not make a baby right?  Sooooo, OMG.. the topic of convo with my mom is on this trip is "How are we going to get you pregnant?"  biglaugh.gif

It's so fun.. ROTFLMAO.gif

Shellhawk... finally a girl not from NC.. not that I don't love you east coasters... but c'mon with 2000-4000 people in each sq mile of LA.. I couldn't believe I was the only out here. bigeyes.gif

So tomorrow we are returning to Paris from Normandy where the DH has done 115 videos of WWII stuff from D-day.  This morning we even woke up before daybreak to go check out some German bunkers.. GEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZEEEEEEEEEE Looooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it was cold.  But oh so cool. Nothing like being up to watch the sun rise. coolshine.gif

Tomorrow we are going back to Paris and on NYE the DH and I will be taking a kiss under the ARC d'Triomphe (sp?) - I will be making my wish for the EWBJC.. I really mean it, my wish will be that all of my bestest friends here get their wishes... so please at 12.. accept my wish.  It's for you and all for love.gif

OH who's going to be Threadkeeper in Jan?

I

Taxlady - I volunteered to be the January threadkeeper a while ago, so t'will be me.  I hope your wish comes true and I get to move all of us to the BFP graduates list!  orngtongue.gif

I have the flu, complete with fever, chills, and muscle aches.  fever.gif  And my body is being weird.  I was expecting AF to arrive a few days ago, but so far it's just been spotting.  I don't usually spot for more than a day, and here I am on the fourth day of it.  I wish that witch would just hurry up and get here so we could get on with trying to make a baby!

Thanks for the well-wishes (yet again!) everyone. The trip home was ROUGH. I don't even feel like I need to share all the gory details. It has seriously made me question if I will ever travel at the holidays again.

Calycanth, our dear threadkeeper, so sorry you have the flu! Take care. flowersforyou.gif

You can count me in for some serious downtime, no big NYE plans here at all! Think I'm gearing up O, BJ is getting EW-y, need to take an OPK and get back on FF and check things out.

Had a funny thought on the plane, seriously sleep deprived. Thinking about how hard it has been for us to be around mothers and babies and expecting couples everywhere. I started looking at all the people and thinking "This was someone's baby." The teenage boy, the elderly woman. Everyone was someone's baby, so really, since we are part of a huge successful species, being around other people should make us remember that nature wants us to reproduce and So SO many people have done it before us, against many odds. We will, too! Those are my deep thoughts.

Bonne Année Taxi! Thanks for your wishes for all of us.

Bootsie.. you are right.. we've managed to keep the population going for 1000's of years.  Today we say the Tapestry de Beyeux.. made in something like 1077.. and we're still alive.  Let's make babies gals.  WE CAN!

NEW YEAR'S BABIES.. FOR ALL dust.gif

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE, LADIES!!!     dust.gif  Sticky Baby Dust to All!!   xoxoxo     I'm grateful to be a part of this group!

Thank you Boggles & Caly for trying to check out my chart.  I'll attach the share codes as well as homepage web address that fertilityfriend gives me when I click share (& then share codes).

Caly - So sorry you have the flu, lady.  Crappy for New Years...

Taxlady - I know!!  I always wondered if west coasters just got pregnant easily or what the deal was with why they weren't on any of the TTC boards!!  lol   Thanks so much for your wonderful & well traveled wish for New Years!!  How amazing, seriously, Paris at New Years! Epic!

Boots -  Thanks for your deep thought/ different perspective on baby making. Always good to think of things in a different way - especially when we're getting down in the dumps.

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Grandma, who is 92 years young today!  She still makes dinner every Sunday at her house (where she lives alone).  On Sundays, she makes a regular meal for all of us (for example tacos) then makes a vegetarian version for my cousins (boca meat for tacos)!  She went to the DMV two weeks ago and only missed one on her written exam!  I'm very proud of what a great family she has produced!

I had to give a little written praise to my Grandma because she too has the flu (she's been really sick for several days)!  We had to cancel her birthday celebration tonight. blowkiss.gif

The following are the codes that fertility friend gives me when I click share:

HTML code for link to chart:

<a href="http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/32caab">My Ovulation Chart</a>

bbCode Code (for message boards):

[url=http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/32caab]My Ovulation Chart[/url]

My Charting Homepage Web Address:

One more thing about my chart, ladies.  I had ordered a Basal thermometer from babyhopes and it took a while to receive so when I first started temping I was using a Vicks brand digital thermometer.  I know, is that totally dumb?!?   Yesterday morning was the first morning using the Basal thermometer.  I took readings from both thermometers (I have a hand written chart) so I could keep track of the difference between both thermometers.

Questions (would love your input):

1) Should I just continue to temp with basal thermometer knowing that this months readings are all out of wack or go back to digital for the rest of this cycle?

2) I wake up every morning around 5:30 or 6:00 and stay awake for at least an hour or two.  I have been taking my waking temp at that early in the morning also and those temps are obviously lower than the temps I end up taking at like 10:15 when I wake back up.  Should I be using the early morning temps for my chart instead?

(P.S. I didn't have to work this past year & I've had a lot of problems sleeping which is why I have such a crazy sleep schedule... Also the love of my life has developed an even more extreme case of snoring since last Summer.........................)

MY WISH TO ALL OF US ARE THE BEAUTIFUL BABIES WE DESERVE!!!!  2011 IS OUR YEAR!!!!             jumpers.gif

Shellhawk: I would use the early morning temperatures, they're going to be a lot more consistent than the late ones. I personally would also start using the basal thermometer and know that the beginning of your chart will be a bit off. It doesn't look like you've ovulated yet so those early temps shouldn't really impact anything (besides making the chart look a bit wonky!). As long as you can see the temp shift when you ovulate, the rest doesn't really matter :)

To everyone else: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Much  dust.giffor all!
