5-year-old with red bumpy patch that won't go away?

My DD has a little patch of red bumpy skin on her cheek above and to the right of her mouth.  It's very small, and it doesn't seem to bother her (doesn't itch or hurt), but it does seem to be spreading a bit with the colder weather.  It's been there for a month... I've put lotion/balm on it, and lanolin, thinking it might just be dry skin, but that hasn't helped.  I don't really want to take her in to the doctor because it's so minor... but I don't really want it to get worse (and it seems like cold snowy recess aggravates any skin issues on the face or hands), and it looks kind of icky.  Any ideas for what it might be or how I might attempt to treat it?

I hope someone can chime in with help because my 5 y/o has the exact same thing.

Is it right at the mouth area? Could it be saliva from sleeping/drooling or wiping mouth that irritates the skin when it's cold?

My son's cheeks would sometimes look like what you're describing...I washed his face (gently) a few times a day and put aquaphor on afterwards. Seemed to do the trick.

Keratosis Pilaris is a red, bumpy skin thing but it's usually much broader than a little patch.

Maybe Impetigo?

Dh will get a rash on the side his face where the tooth brush handle rubs when he uses certain brands of tooth paste.

This also popped into my head.  One can get it most noticeably on the cheeks and have less noticeable patches else where (DS has a bit of that on his cheeks,) but one would expect it to be mostly symmetrical.

I lost track of this thread for a while!  She (and I) do both have Keratosis Piliarsis (I have it mainly on my arms; she has it on her arms, legs, and a little on her face), but this is something different and more concentrated in a small area above her mouth.  The doctor said to put hydrocortisone on it and see if it goes away... it hasn't yet, although it looks better most of the time.  So if it doesn't clear up more completely soon I'll have to ask the doctor again...
