My uterus is off-centre :p

Is this normal? I remember my bump being symmetrical with DD, but this time when I lie down (I'm 13 weeks, barely showing) I feel the bump on the right side of my tummy, not dead centre. Anyone else had this? It doesn't signify something dire, does it? :)

I had that problem and it meant my uterus was heart shaped.  The baby's head was in the top of the heart and couldn't navigate to the other side.  I had a healthy full term pregnancy.

I thought of that, but I've already had one pregnancy - it would have been picked up on, surely?

The baby might just be hanging out on the one side.  My third babe was on my left side the entire pg, even at full term, and my belly did often look lopsided.

I have a lopsided belly too.  I remember noticing it the first time at 12-13 weeks.  It's mostly on the right, but occasionally the whole thing will shift to the left.  It's worse during a BH

Im not 36 weeks, with a healthy pregnancy.  I had it for my first pregnancy too and DS was born healthy at term.

agree that it is probably the baby. My belly is super lopsided this pg- my right side is noticeably bigger than the left and I feel the "bump" you were talking about only on the right side. At my US, both of my babies were curled up in my lower right uterus. The tech thought it was hilarious bc they have tons of room and fluid so they could move if they wanted- they just don't.

I rarely feel movement on the left side.

I do think, if you have had any ultrasounds of your uterus ever that a heart shaped uterus would have been picked up, but IDK for sure

ETA: could be where your placenta is, too. Both of my placentas are right sided and I have an anterior wrap, so I think that contributes to looking lopsided

I've never had a round belly.  Right now I've got a big lump on the top right... his butt.  Do you know where your placenta is this time compared to last time?  I know mine is far off to one side instead of up top so I figure that is why he likes to hang out on the opposite side.

No idea, I haven't had any scans yet. But it's good to know I'm not the only one! It just surprised me after my last pregnancy's symmetrical bump. :p If I remember, I'll ask at the 20-week scan which side the placenta's on, just out of curiosity.

Mine is to the left side! My youngest daughter always hung out there too.

I was lopsided with DS1. I poked out further on the left than the right. That baby is almost 9 now, and the left side of my belly is still "saggier" than the right. Awesome! LOL.

normal in some cases, at least. my uterus has always been bigger on the right than the left. turns out, the placenta is on the left and katie's on the right. nothing wrong at all :) and i definitely don't have a funny-shaped uterus, they would have noticed during my first caesarean.

Mine has been lopsided since I could feel it around 11-13 weeks or so - turns out i have an anterior placenta that is more to one side than the other. I didn't have the lopsidedness until the very end with DD and that was because she had her butt up under my left ribs (posterior placenta that time). I betcha anything you have a wrapped placenta on one side or it's slightly anterior.
