Hi! Unfortunately, the software configuration doesn't allow us to process name changes. We're really sorry for the inconvenience. If there are serious privacy concerns, you would be welcome to re-register with a new username, but we would need to close your existing account. How do I change password, email address, and my user name?
When you're viewing your own Profile page, there is a button that says "Edit Account." From there it's very easy to reset your password, email address, and other account details. At this time, you cannot change your user name after you have registered. For more information on how to edit your user profile, head over to our Community Profile Tutorial.

It would have been nice to get a warning email about that before the change. I was putting off changing my username until I thought of something I liked and now I can't so it anymore. I guess I'll have to start a new account. Not cool, not cool at all.

I posted an announcement in Questions and Suggestions and then placed a site-wide announcement at the top of the site the week before the changeover occurred to let members know that they needed to make any name changes. I also placed a sticky note notice "Important Site Info and Name Change Info!" in each of the forums four days before the switch in an effort to reach the most members as possible. I'm really sorry that the message didn't reach you and for the inconvenience this has caused.
