I was so happy that all three girls did so well! I was happy for Antonia for winning too, as I like her. I felt a little bad for Fabio, though--as his dish did look delicious.
I like Tre, so I wish Mike Isabella would have gone. Even though Tre's rissotto may have been a little stiff, I don't see that as any worse than having hard, uncooked pasta!
Any ideas on top three? I'm thinking Blaise, Fabio, and Dale...although I'd love to see Carla or Antonia in there.
I was really scared at the end that Dale was going to go home! I do think his dish looked/sounded the worst, but he has been doing so well in this competition! I'd hate to see him go for that. Ok with Tre going, although I'd have preferred it to be Mike. I think really bad pasta is worse than too-firm risotto!
I was surprised to see Carla in the top! (but glad) It didn't seem like there were tons of great comments about her soup, but I'll have to re-watch.
OH- and the reason for my post here! Have you all seen Fabio's blog? http://fabioviviani.com/blog/fabio-on-top-chef-restaurant-wars/#comment-313 It's hysterical! I don't see a recap from last night yet, but the restaurant wars one is hilarious!
I really wanted him to win last night :( And the week before when he did so well with FOH and made a delicious dessert. I really thought he deserved it and was glad to see him come back strong, since I always feel like he is a great chef but underperforms on this show.
This episode was so good. Was glad Blaise got immunity. Hope he continues to keep his confidence level up. Mike annoyed me this past episode but I like all of the chefs left as well. Angelo is starting to grow on me though he's my least favorite.
I'd like to see Carla win an quick fire.
Does anyone else find themselves watching the reruns when they're on?
I agree, it seems like undercooked rigatoni is a bigger fail than stiff risotto. I wish it had been mike I guess, although I don't find him quite as abrasive this go round as I did during his season. Fabio seemed like he deserved the win just for the fact that it seemed like so much more work went into his dish. I coudln't believe how rude they all were when Antonia walked back in and announced she had won. they just stared at her!
I wonder if it's the rumored discrimination of female chefs? Other than Marcel winning something, I can't see them being that negative to anybody.
And the hubris of them assuming since all three girls (plus Fabio) were called first, that they must be the worst was telling as well.

I was so glad to see all three ladies make into the top! The boys don't give them enough credit, so it was good they got a shake-up. And you're right-- they weren't gracious about losing.
I do like almost everyone there now, so it's hard to see anyone go. If I had to choose, I'd say Mike I. should be next.
Top contenders: Richard, Angelo
with Dale, Antonia, and Carla all right in there too.
OK, I'm finally caught up on this show!! I loved the last episode - I agreed with the judges that the antipasti & secondi courses looked way better than the pasta ones. I thought Fabio should have won, though - his seemed more Italian & like it took more skill. Even though I really didn't want to see him go, I thought Mike's dish should've been the losing one. His sauce must have tasted pretty good to save the pasta!
I really disliked the quickfire - the one about fashion. I mean, really? I agreed with Dale's comment that he was a chef, & who cares what a fashion designer thinks about this food. I agree that we eat with our eyes first, but that seemed to be pushing it a little for me. Personally, I thought Richard's dish did not look appetizing at all. Black ice cream? Yuck. Maybe the next quickfire should be 100% about taste to compensate. They could let the judges taste the food blindfolded & then see who wins. It wouldn't matter at all what it looks like then!
It's getting down to some really good chefs & some heavy competition!! Pretty much everyone that's left is awesome.
I always like it when they do real food challenges... like the $10 dinner challenge (even though I had serious doubts on their ability to actually buy those ingredients at Whole Foods for $10)....or the one where they took what was in a neighborhood's fridges, etc. I'd love to see them do a challenge with the money or food a typical person would have on WIC or food stamps.... with them having to budget for pantry items too (buying them from the Top Chef pantry for a certain amount.) I'd also like to see them do quick fires on some basics... like the best vinaigrette, egg dish, etc. I get a little sick of the yuzu jelly and more exotic ingredients sometimes.
I am very sad. I love Fabio... not just his cooking, but his attitude towards life. I loved his whole one of these days Mr. Jimmy Fallon, I'm going to cook you a burger and you're going to be for forgiveness. I honestly thought Dale was going home for too much salt. His cheesesteak sounded so good...especially the pretzel roll.
Richard seems to be getting annoyed at being in the middle. I like how he's willing to share his knowledge and skills with the other contestants. I worry about his if you don't win, then it's pointless type attitude, though. I hope he makes it to the final three.
