3 Day Period, 2 Spotting Days? Hormonal Imbalance?

My period came on time this month (Friday), and started after a brown spotting/discharge on the day it was due. It was a very heavy three days of bleeding with some heavy cramping.

Normally, my periods last 5-7 days straight.

On Monday I had a very, very light spotting.

Tuesday and today I spotted once each in the afternoon and nothing other than that.

Could this be caused by some time of hormonal imbalance?

I'm not sure what causes it, but I've had that recently.  When I first came of BC earlier this year, my periods were five days, at least.  In the past three or four months, I have three days of bleeding, but TONS of spotting (pre and post AF).  I thought maybe it was just my body adjusting to being off the BC?  I'll definitely be checking back to see what the other ladies have to say!

My period is always 3 days. It used to be always 5 days. Its not a hormonal problem, 3 days is still well within the range of normal. It just randomly one month switched to 3 days... I think it went back and forth for a bit though between 3 and 5 before settling at 3. My doctor said to be thankful lol.
