7mo not interested in food. Should I be worried?

My DD doesnt like food. I never had this problem with #1.

I have tried various things (fruits) & she just doesnt like it at all. She actually pushes my hand away when she sees it coming.  duck.gif

The funny thing is that she is so interested in what DS & I are doing/eating - reaching for our plates/staring/etc

At this young age should I be concerned yet?

Thanks

Nope.

Two of mine were early eaters (the first one was begging for food from our plates at 5 months.  Then my third one came along and all he cared about was noonie milk.  He didn't start eating solids seriously until after 1 yo, and even then, many days his nutritional intake was 75-90% breastmilk.

Mine didn't become interested until very recently, once she started really crawling and got her first tooth. (eventhough she has been interested in and playing with food for months)

First, question: what format are you offering the food in? My daughter won't allow any spoon feeding, but she likes to self-feed-- to an extent. Which brings me to:

Anecdote: Cecilia is 8 months old next week, and she is a very casual solids eater. She loves to play and self-feed, but she doesn't ingest more than a small chunk of anything. So if I give her her favorite foods, which are fish, pears and butternut squash, she will eat one, say 1", piece and play with the rest. I don't really care since she doesn't need the food for nutrition at this point.

At such a young age, I wouldn't be concerned.

This article may calm you concerns:
