Trying to figure out- pregnant or not? Help

I've never posted in this forum before. We got pregnant with Ds with no real 'active' planning, so I don't know much about really trying to get pregnant besides the obvious. DH and I have not actively prevented at all since having DS-now 18 months. My cycles have been regular since DS was 4 mo (although I am still nursing) -with DH working some nights and me spending a lot of time being exhausted from chasing DS all day, I'm not surprised we haven't conceived yet. 

So this month, we decided to be a little more proactive. I'm thinking I ovulated sometime between the 13th and the 15th. We haven't dtd since this span of time. So the end of November came and I was pretty excited- no period. But I tested yesterday and it was negative. I'm thinking that if I was pregnant, it would show positive by now right?

If you did ovulate at the time you think you did, you should have a positive test or a period by now.  You could have ovulated later than you thought, meaning the period or positive test would be delayed as well, or not ovulated at all, or you could have a cyst keeping your period away.
