Not sure if mine is the same as yours but...

I also had vaginal/pelvic pain early on in pregnancy although I don't remember how early. My vagina would feel "tight"... as if the hole was smaller??? Haha! It started with just pain around vaginal area especially when I'm lying down and trying to turn from one side to the other. I thought it was my muscles so didn't bother much about it. As the pregnancy progressed (nearly 39 weeks now) the pain became more severe and spread to my pelvic area. I asked doc about it but she didn't have answers. She gave me magnesium supplements (when I was 30 weeks) which I'm taking daily but not sure how much it is helping.

Now I experience quite a lot of pain when I get up from a sitting position. Walking the first few steps after that is difficult and then the pain eases. The pain is usually just on my right side and seems to be worse towards the evening. It doesn't bother me too much early in the day and today I even managed to vacuum without any difficulty. I figure it's how baby is lying and maybe he's lying against some nerve. Because the pain isn't constant and varies in degree depending on the time of day... and also because baby will probably pop anytime now... I haven't bothered to have it checked up again because I know they will just prod and poke me and test me for every little thing.

Apart from all this, the pregnancy has been healthy and everything is fine.

Hope this helps, but you're probably better off asking your midwife or doc?
