Reported: Firefox 4.0 Beta 7 and MDC are incompatible

Yeah, basically that. Firefox 4 Beta 7 and MDC seem to be very, very incompatible and it's been making Firefox crash all day whenever I try to respond to any posts.  I'm having to type this offline because I just can't use the editor at all on MDC (I can't even see the flashing taskbar, it won't let me make new paragraphs, I can't move around text in the editor, I can only get the full editor remotely working the other one won't let me right click at all and I also can't even click somewhere new to start typing there basically NOTHING works!).  I'm sure it's more of Firefox's problem since the it's a beta version but if there is anything MDC could do I would certainly appreciate it!

Our tech team works to resolve browser issues as they come to be known issues but some things really can't be addressed when a browser version is in beta. Firefox could make changes to their beta before the release of the final version, which could adversely affect any changes made by us to address their beta bugs. So it would be rather pointless to put effort into it in the beta phase. Sorry. redface.gif but i will make sure this is known and once the version is released we can look at reports of problems and go from there. smile.gif

I have a non-beta version of Firefox (3.6.12) and I have the exact same problem. I have to type on an external document and paste it into a new post in order to input any characters. Also on my iPhone I can't scroll up or down on the MDC site.

What operating system are you both using?

As for the iPhone, I'm not having any scroll problems on my iPhone. So it may too be a version issue of the OS and the browser. Please let me know what OS and browser you are using and what iPhone (3, 3S, 4).

Are you using the BB Editor or the Rich Text Editor?

I'm using Ubuntu

10.04 LTS (sorry for the weird spacing but basically the editor problem again...).  What's weird is that if I write up a post and then go back and edit it everything is fine???  Then I don't have any of the problems anymore.  But it's the initial reply that gives me all these headaches.  FWIW, I'm pretty sure I had this too before my computer decided to switch me over to beta.

There really shouldn't be that much of a technical issue in typing replies that is happening in firefox NOR the technical issue of not being able to submit the reply in a blackberry browser.OnOn...ON....OK.  This is supposed to be a new paragraph. On a very basic level, this is a form with a few added features above that can be inserted into the form.  The form has been around for a long time on the internet.  Every OTHER form works on my browsers.  The fact is, they tried to do something "cool" and Mothering.com paid them a lot of money because they thought they could do that.  They failed...mothering.com is out of the money and it won't be easy to go back because they probably didn't keep the old program for whatever reason.  So they'd have to hire someone to do it right.I say take them to Judge Judy and get your $$ back....then hire someone with more experience to do this.

Actually we've not paid anything so no worries there.

All of these issues have been reported and ticketed to be addressed.

We do want to see all of the bugs worked out and are committed to making sure it happens, one way or the other. Thanks for assuming the best of us and our efforts. We appreciate your feedback and your contributions as a member. thumb.gif
