Ordered my Hypnobabies today!

I hope it's worth it, it's a LOT of money, even with the 15% off they have going on right now. But I ordered it today and I'm really excited to get started! The only thing I'm worried about is listening to the CDs during labor, I just wonder if hauling the player around is going to get on my nerves. Well, I guess I'll face that when it comes to it.

Is there anything I can do to make this work better or to ensure I get the most out of it?

Could you buy an mp3 player/iPod? I got my Hypnobabies set secondhand, and split the cost with SIL (we're sharing - I haven't started yet, she's due several months before me)... but I will also splash out for an mp3 player. I don't think DH and DD want to listen to all the tracks multiple times a day! And during labour it'd be rather handy too. I guess you'd have to be a bit careful in a waterbirthing situation, though...

Hope it works for both of us! :) I went to the dentist today and could really have used some medical hypnosis... I tried some of the techniques based on what I'd read online, but obviously without actual instructions or any practice they didn't do any good! It did sort of distract me, at least. :p

It is definitely worth it!  I got my money's worth for Hypnobabies within a few days of buying it.  Between my increased confidence, improved sleep and all the amazing natural childbirth information I had already learned, a few days is really all it took for me to know the purchase had been a good one, no matter what the birth was like, and despite our money problems at the time. 

I never "hauled the player around" during my 3 hypnosis births.  I preferred to listen to the scripts out-loud, but many women put them on an MP3 player, their phone, etc, and listen that way.  But listening to CDs, while very helpful for many women during birth, is not a requirement of using Hypnobabies during birth.  You will be learning a large number of techniques that you and/or your birth team can use to instantly relax you, increase your comfort and release stress.  Plenty of women find that they prefer getting verbal prompts and physical cues from their birth partner, or simply using the cues they've learned to give themselves. 

I did put my scripts on an inexpensive MP3 player for my most recent birth, and enjoyed that for practicing.
