TTC with Acupuncture

Any ladies TTC with acupuncture and TCM? I have PCOS and Hypothyroidism and I do not ovulate on clomid, or Follistim. I tried Acupuncture for 2 weeks and FF detected O for me. So I give props to Acu for the O detection. I am starting up with a new acupuncturist next week, so I was wondering how many other ladies are on acupuncture as well.

I am doing acupuncture weekly for a short luteal phase. I just finished my 3rd month of acupuncture and my luteal phase has increased by 3 days. My acupuncturist recommends I continue appointments weekly for another month and then switch to every 2 weeks until I am pregnant.

I always feel really great after the acupuncture appointments and it has worked wondering on my stress levels and general happiness, so I would recommend it for anyone TTC!

Hi!

I've been going to a TCM for a long time - he prescribed dietary changes, herbs, and moxibustion in addition to acupuncture for my Chinese diagnosis (my western diagnosis is, like yours, PCOS and hypothyroid).  After about a year of Acu. I added metformin and synthroid.  The biggest thing I have learned from TCM is that the most important thing is to fix the problem - excess dampness/stagnant blood/etc. so that your body is in as close to an optimal state as it can be, where it will function best,  which - hopefully - yields a BFP and a sticky little one!

Best of luck!

I just wanted to add that I started acupuncture regularly in June, and in September or October (I think it was) I added herbal supplements that my acupuncturist recommended.  I just have to say that the start of this school year I had MANY changes that could have made this one of my most stressful starts to the school year ever (I'm a teacher).  Instead, DH and I both noticed that I seemed to take most everything in stride and stay cool.  Also, as soon as I started the herbs, my elevated FSH level dropped.  I so strongly believe the acupuncture and herbs helped!

I started seeing a Japanese Acupuncturist about 18 mos ago for allergies, then just went back again 2 weeks ago for fertility. I agree that it helps 100% with feeling of wellbeing, and reducing overall stress. I will let you know in a few weeks how it does for fertility, My O was actually 2 days late after Acupuncture, so I'm not sure what is going on there.

This intrigues me!  I also have a short LP which was fixed by NPC with dd (6 years ago) but seems to be not as affected this time around (I am 35).  I just wish I had the time since I know appointments take over an hour.

FWIW, I credit acupuncture with the conception of my son. I had wonky, long cycles. I went to my acupuncturist weekly for 3+ weeks and I conceived.

My previous cycle before my son was 120 days. Had I not gotten pregnant, it would've been 45 days. I totally credit TCM with it.
