Vitex
I am drinking 2 cups of tea a day that has vitex in it - it's called Fertilitea and it's not hard to track down. That's not the same as taking vitex as a supplement or a tincture, so I'm not sure if it's what you mean. I've been drinking it for maybe 3 weeks now and so far, not really sure if there is any effect. But it tastes nice and at least I feel like I am doing something baby-related!

I started taking vitex almost 3 weeks ago- Natures Way brand- 2 or 3 pills a day- they are 400mg. They gave me headaches the first 2 weeks, but it seems like since I started getting EWCM the headaches have gone away, so who knows if that means it is working & when my progesterone went up they stopeed or if that means I'm just getting used to it. I don't know about it regulating my cycle so far, I'm at CD 18 today, still with EWCM, still not sure if I O'd... On a typical 27-29 day cycle.. Good luck with it though, I'd love to know what other peoples results are.
My last two children were conceived using vitex and maca. I take it in the tincture form since that is most effective. Vitex can take up to 3 months to work, it is a dose related herb, the levels have to build up to the correct levels. Vitex does not work for everyone, there can be some side effects, and if you don't really need it, it has the potential to really mess up a cycle. I usually suggest consulting a certified herbalist to see if it is right for you.Â

I used vitex when ttc my son two years ago. It regulated my cycles right away, and I was prego by 3 months of using it. I'm taking it again to regulate my cycles but it doesn't seem to be working as well this time. I've been taking it almost 3 months (3 400mg caps/day) and still have a late ovulation and short LP.

I took it 2 cycles ago and that cycle my CM was never EWCM. That has never happened to me since having DD. I immediately stopped (was the only change that cycle) and the next cycle my CM was more normal (but not 100%). This cycle seems like it might be back to how it was before Vitex.
Â
It's obviously worth a try but just a heads up...

That's odd. I had over 10 days of EWCM (LOTS of it too) last cycle (and 8 days the o before that), on vitex. I found it made me have more EWCM.

Yeah, I don't know what happened but the Vitex was the only change. I was really bummed - it through my whole cycle off.

I have been taking it for about 4 months now. I started it to stimulate my af to return and, at 24 months postpartum, it finally did. That was only about 5 or 6 weeks after starting the vitex, so maybe it worked. My cycles are still a bit long with a short LP so I've carried on taking it to regulate them. They seemed to be settling down, but this month I'm already at cd14 with no sign of any cm yet so I don't think I'm going to be ovulating for ages :(. So does vitex work? I think it helped me get my cycles back. Don't know about regulating them.

I posted above about my success with vitex, I've been doing an experiment for a month now with vitex. Every other time I have taken it is is to TTC, my PP AFs have always been wacky, but I also tend to get AF back or induce it back and want to TTC right away. Ever since having my first child my cycles have been long with not Oing until day 22 or so. That was the way it was after 2 children and I was always taking vitex. Got it?Â
So we are not TTC and I have had AF back for a year, it has been wacky in the beginning then settled down, for the past 4 months I have been Oing on day 18, with a 9 day LP so a 27 day cycles. Right when I got AF last month I started vitex just curious what it would do, it obviously started working right away because I am day 22 and just now starting to see signs of EWCM, but not very much. Looking back on my charting while taking vitex the previous times and then the past year having AF with no vitex, the vitex drastically decreases my EWCM. In fact the month I got pg with DS, I was convinced I had never even Oed at all because I had scant mucous at all (I was trying to take a break from being obsessive so I was not temping or watching other signs). I am now thinking that while I normally O a littler later, day 18, vitex makes me O even later. I was having 40 day cycles when I got pg those last two times and I think it was all due to vitex. While it does does my LP longer, it makes everything longer.Â

I just started drinking chasteberry tea yesterday. No where in town sells vitex pills so I had to go with brewing my own from what I had. I'm using one teaspoon in 8 oz of water twice a day. An hour after I drank the first cup I got a headache. It was gone this morning and back again after drinking the tea. I have read a few times about it causing headaches. Anyone know how long it will continue to cause them? I know it will be worth it in the end if I finally get pregnant. Just not sure how I will handle the constant headache.

Peony- it seemed to delay my O too. This is my first month using it and I didn't O until CD 17, whereas last month it was CD14. I didn't notice any trouble with CM though, mine was pretty strong for 4 days.
Â
Lovemytwoboys- I posted to you on the other thread, but I wanted to add here that I'm not sure about the dosage for drinking the tea. My headaches were gone after 2 weeks, and I'm not about 5 DPO and still taking 800mg a day with no side effects. Worth it to me too as long as I get those 2 lines on the next test!

Anybody else experience delayed or no O with this? I've tried, RR leaf Maca had a really LONG 34 day cycle then when I tried FertileCM again had a really long 36 day cycle with really late O both times. I've NEVER had that happen before I've always had 28-29 day cycles.Â
Â
I'm afraid to try this for fear of delaying O and having another long cycle?
