Astrology

I use Astrology a lot as a guide... I have a Certificate in Applied Astrology which took me 2 years part-time and I think it is the most wonderful tool for understanding oneself (and others). I also use the Tarot and have done many many readings (professionally and personally).

I had a laptop while I was in hospital and was drawing up my daughter's chart a couple of hours after she was born!

Anyone else here into Astrology or interested in learning about it?

Yes,
Ive always been interested in astrology and tarot. I had my daughters chart done soon after she was born. I havent done a tarot reading in a long time. I also use runes when I can. My husband and I had a compatability chart done before we got engaged that was really amazing. I think thats what made my husband ask me to marry him. We have a grand trine in our chart.

Oooh yeah my husband and I have a lot of freaky things in our charts like *exact* sextiles, and his Moon is at the same degree of the same sign as Amber's... it's amazing the things you find.

I haven't used Runes much, I use the Rider Waite and Mythic tarot deck and the Animal Medicine cards which I have found spookily good for doing readings on myself.

Hi!
I have used astrology for over 20 years. It really has helped me to understand the way things work and to find my place in this world. Especially, when I was very young and still confused about life - astrology was a great teacher to me.
The ascendant of my dh's and my own chart are within 3 degrees. I have never been so much in harmony with anybody.

Cool! I totally agree with you... Astrology is such a great tool for understanding human nature and our place in the greater scheme of things. The issue of whether it's "true" or not becomes irrelevant when you realise what a beautiful language it is.

I use astrology a lot to suss someone up when I first meet them. It is such a useful tool. To really understand someone though, you need to know where all the planets were at the time of birth, not just the sun.

I did Gabriel's chart right after he was born as well It is so funny to read about what he is going to be like as an adult! A sensitive thinker apparently.. that would be nice

I had Saffron's birth chart done when she was a couple of months old. It was a very unreal experience. My granny was an astrologer & my aunt still is I think. She lives in South Africa so I never see her. I find it fascinating the things you can tell with astrology. I also found it very vindicating of all the things I had planned to do with how I was going to bring up Saffron. it gave me some ideas too.

Dh and I had our charts done when we first lived together, I found it facinating. He also did a lot of reading about the iChing, and the mayan calander...for instance, when the two are superimposed in a certain way, it depicts the structure of DNA.

I also remember someone respectable commenting that to understand a person's astrological influences completely, you need their death chart too. Anyone else heard of this?

I've always loved astrology, and I've been reading Tarot for about 7 years. I've found both to be really right on.

I don't know how to do astrology but use it a lot. I get kind of embarrassed telling people how I use it but I'll share it here.

For instance:

1) When DH and I were planning our wedding we consulted our amazing astrologer for a date. We told has all the point we would like to empasize in our relationship, and worked from there.

2) DH's company. We used it to set a date to incorporate on. Once again choosing the aspects we wanted to be strong in.

3) My company. I choose the aspects that suited my company then we picked the 'right' date and I registered on that date. Then another date to open to the public.

4) We do a 'reading' once a year for DH's company (and will do with mine now), to see when tight spots will be, what will be coming up, issues we may run into, good time to do certain things, etc... Maybe it's the astrology, maybe it's us, but things run fairly smooth for us, and we seemed prepared.

THese are just some different ways we use astrology beyond the everyday perrsonal uses.

Does anyone have any other uses that are a little different?

[edited to add: We have a really great astrologer that is in California. We are in Canada and consult with her despite the distance because she is so good. Expensive but good. I guess not expensive when you think of the background research she has to do.]

Oh, we also use it when hiring new staff solely for the purposes of seeing if their will be harmony between the new staff and existing team. I look firstly at their credentials than the astrology of course.

Dh check both moon void of course times and mercury retrogrades, sometimes in retrospect only, regarding business (he's a partner in a restaurant) on Guy Spiro's site.
moukii, how do your employees feel about the astrological stuff? Do you tell them about it? What's your batting average? Anyone suck after looking really good/vice versa?

How interesting. I heard Norma Kamali also does that.

DH's company is an natural health company, and mine is natural beauty. So...people we hire are somewhat alternative. Usually potential employees thinks it's really interesting. We have a great team around us now. We use other methods to see a persons personality as well. Don't get me wrong, it is only a small way in which we look at someone when hiring. If there was an amazing person with great credentials but didn't fit astrology wise, I won't still hire them. We haven't run into that situation yet but...
