This thread was set up for those of us who have really long cycles. No matter what the reason of your long cycles you are welcome here. It is hard to find other ladies that love to have the 2WW because it took them 3 months to get there. We are here to offer support and to listen to all your ranting. Please join our group and together we can get through the TTC without Oing together. If you would like to join just post Join Please in your title and add any information you would like next to your name like your chart or how many little ones you have. I hope we become a close family here.

So, it's CD28 and still no O for me. But I did have lots of EWCM again this morning. I think my body is trying to O (for the 3rd time this cycle). Hopefully, it has enough power to push out a nice egg this time. I feel like I spend far more time worrying about ovulating than about getting pregnant. It seems backwards somehow.

Let's see here... I'm on CD 23 and I have no idea if I'm fertile or not.  Cm goes from EW to creamy to dry to watery all in one day.  UGGGH.  I've never O'd exactly on the same day each cycle, so it's hard to predict when I'll O again.  At this point I'm starting to worry and stress about it and it's messing me all up.  How do you try not to think about it when it's all you can think about?  I O'd sooner after my D&C than I will this time around.  http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/11a448

KAS08, welcome! Though I'm sorry you have to be here. We should all be pregnant by now. Maybe Santa will bring us all promises of pregnancy!

My CM is often wacky like that, too. If I get a ton of EWCM, I know I'm fertile; otherwise, it's usually oscillating wildly between watery and creamy. And it seems to get more indecisive with each progressive cycle.

Just wanted to add to my earlier post. I got a + OPK this afternoon! CD28. It had better not be another fake-out like last week's. Please, ovaries, I'm begging you. Ovulate before my husband has to leave on business again in a week.

You can definitely Join!! Welcome. I am sorry to hear of your loss and I understanding what you mean how are we not supposed to stress, its not possible. I hope you get some good support from us and good luck on your journey.

I know...........my sister in law is always asking "Are you pregnant yet?". I am like ha pregnant......you have to ovulate for that!! I hope your egg is very sticky this month and BRING IT ON SANTA WE ARE READY!!!!!

Welcome KAS08! And sorry you have to be here! I wanted to tell you, and SweetBee you too, that I have read that it is OK and normal to have CM vary within the same day. You just record whichever is the most fertile, and go by that. So if you are having watery CM that is a good thing. Remember we can't always SEE what's way up in our cervix. it is so hard not to stress. I'm not sure how not to stress about it anymore.

SweetBee, I hope this is it!!! I hope I hope I hope I hope! Wishing you good eggie vibes. Personally, I am pretty envious of all those ladies who know when they are going to O at a certain time each month. Or for that matter, those who O each month at all! I went back through my charts for 2010, and have realized that I am on cycle 8 for the year, and I have for sure ovulated 5 cycles, and one cycle that I possibly O'd but not sure. So, for the whole year I had 5 chances to be pregnant. That seems really sucky to me. I'm old y'all! I don't think this is going to happen without intervention. Please, Lord, let my husband hurry up and get a new job so we can move somewhere they can help us have a baby! Also, today, MIL, who is pretty tough to deal with anyway, made the comment that my poor son has no one to play with. She doesn't know our struggles, but still. It really bugged me. She made some comments a few months ago about how he really needs a little sister. (she hates boys, but that's another story..) I don't want to tell her what we've been going through, but I also wish she would not make comments. So, ZJM, I feel your pain about your sister's comments too.

AFM, my temps are oddly higher than normal for the start of a cycle. Normally they would be way low right now, like 97.18 or so, but they're between 97.33 and 97.7...so, maybe that is a good sign that this might be a more "normal" cycle where I will O at a reasonable time rather than, say, CD 62 like last time!!!!! I hope it will be anyway. I am experimenting with not taking all my supplements while we are on this break. So we'll see..maybe some of them were hurting more than helping?

History: I have always had regular 32-35 day cycles, since age 11. Then I met DH, we got engaged . . I started depo provera in May of 2005 (I really liked the thought of not having a period!) . . .that was probably not the best idea. I had my last injection November of 2006, so the shot technically ran out Feb of 2007. I got my first AF since being on it in June of 07, but then nothing, so was given Provera in August which did work to bring on a cycle. In January of 2008, was dx'd with PCOS and given Metformin, which I didn't like at all and am not really fully convinced that I have PCOS (I know doc ran some hormone levels, but not tested at all for insulin resistance, not hirsute or prone to acne. only outward evidence is overweight and irregular cycles, which I didn't have before being on the shot) at anyrate, I didn't stay on the Metformin, and took some supplements - Inositol, Iodine, and one other that is NAC, but forgot what it stands for - all basically vitamins - and they did seem to help regulate my cycles, or it could have just been the Depo slowly leaving my system, and I slowly started losing some of the weight I gained while on Depo (and started a sedentary job, can't blame it all on hormones!) - I had lost about 15 lbs when I finally got pregnant in Febuary 2009, and DS was born 11/20/2009.

We are still nursing, but I have cycles since 4 months PP. they are crazy long, like 50-60 days. I went to see the doc who delivered him, and all he offered was Clomid, did not even offer to run any tests to see where my hormone levels were to see if I am ovulating, or when, etc. He basically said it was because I am nursing. which I know plenty of women who have regular cycles while nursing, and fall pregnant while still nursing. I am charting, I charted to help conceive DS. We aren't really gung-ho TTC, more like just open to a pregnancy right now. I think if nothing happens by the time DS is two, we may try to be more aggressive, but we aren't in a hurry.

Here is my FF chart

CD 35 and I think it is predicting O around cd 44-45 based on my PP cycles. If I do O then, and we catch the eggy, would be pregnant by Christmas which would be great! (but yeah, no hurry :))

-oh, and I am 29, DH is 28.

So yes, I am still waiting to O . . . people do ask us when we might have more, I just say "whenever," because even with regular cycles it is not always a given, is it? It looks like mine are regular now, just regularly loooong. ugh.

Welcome, akind1 and FairyMe. Boo hiss to long cycles and not knowing why! Sorry you are in this boat too.

akind1 - I tried NAC and iodine last year about this time and it didn't help me either. I have never tried Inositol though. I hope you don't have to get any more aggressive and that it all just happens naturally and easily for you!!

FairyMe, have you always had these long cycles? Have you had testing done? Or maybe you are just starting out ttc..either way, I hope the journey is short!

Thanks for the welcome! I read about D-chiro-inositol which is really hard or expensive to find for some reason, and decided just to supplement with easy to find, inexpensive inositol, I took 3 a day, I forget how much iodine, and the NAC I did similiar to clomid is prescribed, days 3-8 of my cycle. I did notice a difference the cycles I remembered to supplement in shorter, more regular-ness. I haven't been supplementing with anything since having DS though.

They've always been wonky...35, 39, 42, 90, 70s, 80s. I haven't had any testing done though if I have another long cycle (hope I'm pregnant before that happens ) I'm going to get more proactive about this. I did go to my OBGYN back in early July and the NP caught firmly told me that I was too young for an ultrasound or more tests as my PCP had recommended. I've been actively TTC since end of July when AF returned after a 90 days cycle. I think when AF returned and I had a 39 day cycle I told myself that just maybe my body was finally sorting itself out but then I had a 44 day cycle and haven't had another cycle since. I'm doing my best to be calm about it though and I keep telling myself all in God's time.

aKind1 - Hmm I guess I was taking my NAC wrong then! I was taking it every day! Very interesting.

FairyMe - if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I think it's really strange they told you that you were too young for an ultrasound, etc. I had my first one at 15, because I had crazy cycles from the get go. I didn't think there was such a thing as too young to see what is wrong with your body! Although, believe me, I have faced TONS of resistance once I was over 18 from docs who just flat out refused to do any testing because I either was "too healthy for all that" or wasn't TTC at the time. "We'll just worry about that once you are married and trying to actually have a baby". Which is super frustrating when you've just gone 3 months without a period for no apparent reason. Grrrr.

Fairy Me, have you tried seeing a Gyne that does no obstetrical patients? a friend had good luck getting help with a practice that was straight gynecology and saw no pregnant women. And soon after she had whatever corrected (I forget, but it did require surgery), she was able to get pregnant. Her prior ob/gyn gave her the same schpeil you got - once you want to get pregnant, we'll deal with it.
