kinderkram dollhouse seconds for $150!

I finally choose a dollhouse when I found the kinderkram one on amazon "used" for $150. I emailed the company selling it to ask what kind of condition it's in and she told me they have several which are seconds and have defects like small cracks in a piece of wood, a loose piece, or a piece that has fallen off and needs to be glued back on.

i agree that its super durable, but just not quite pleasing enough that i would want it in the family room to look at every single day.  DD is getting this one for her birthday next month:

Shipping is about $45 US.  Much much cheaper than wooden wagon.  I dont think I'd ever tire of looking at this one.

I was looking at the wooden wagon one but it didn't seem dollhousey enough and the rooms looked like they would be dark and hard to reach into. It is super pretty though with the colors!

When ordering from overseas do you have to pay duties to have it imported?

There have been tons of wooden dollhouses of all different kinds on my Craigslist lately--- keep an eye on your local Craigslist.  I keep seeing them pop up!  Right now there's 2 just from today!

I have never paid duties...not sure what the exceptions are.

I suppose the colors/textures mesh well with our common area colors.  I like the fact that the toys and adult items go together....its more symbiotic than a bright harshly colored dollhouse that looks out of place.  The kids stuff shouldnt be blatantly out of place to me, but rather complement the adult stuff in our lives/house.
