Dare I wash microfiber couch cushions?

Or is that the worst idea ever?  Our couch has endured an extremely reflux-y baby who pretty much emptied the contents of every meal in its entirety for 10 months, frequently on the couch.  Then he turned into the world's messiest toddler.  I have tried to spot clean, but it really just hasn't done the job as well as I think a washing machine would.  The cushions have zippers and I am dying to throw them into the washing machine.  We cannot afford to ruin this couch because we cannot buy a new one, which is why I've been waiting.

Has anyone washed their microfiber couch cushions?  What were the results?  TIA!

You mean washing the cushion covers (not the foam inside), right?  I've done that a few times.  Cold wash, line dried, no problems.

I think our sofa is microfibre, no cushions, but I've used hot water and vinegar with a sponge all over it, was very apprehensive at first but thought it had got so gross with food spills ... but it turned out fine, although it takes a while to dry completely

I've done it before and the only problem was afterwards the cushions looked cleaner (a lighter color) than the arms. It was worth it though, I'm sure I'm the only one that noticed. I did a cold wash with a little detergent, and line dried then fluffed in the dryer.

it actually turned out pretty good! i used the gentle cycle just to be careful, but some spots are still left so i think next time i will try the regular cycle. i hung it out to dry and the foam was pretty easy to put back in.this is definitely a "no more than twice a year" kind of thing though. i could see how frequent washings could ruin the covers. did you do yours?

The cover to our futon mattress is microfiber.  I, too, was afraid to wash it so I took it to be dry cleaned.  They did an ok job.  Next time, I threw it in the washer on gentle and it did a much better job!!  I wash ours about 2xs a year as its really hard to put the cover back on the mattress cause the  mattress is really heavy.

I do need to wash ours again but thinking of taking it to the laundromat and wash a few other blankets at the same time.
