more questions about bs/acv hair wash...

Thread Starter

I've been using baking soda and acv on my hair for about a year and a half now.  Generally I like it.  I like how cheap and simple it is.  But I do have some questions still:

1) Every time I brush my hair it leaves some gray "stuff" on the bristles.  I don't know what it is.  It doesn't matter if it's freshly washed or not, the bristles are coated in this gray stuff.  Like dust mixed with my hair oils, maybe?  Is that normal?  Does it mean my hair is still dirty or is it just natural residue?

2) How often should I by washing my hair this way?  Right now I do it once a week (I have a lot of hair and a baby and my hair seems clean enough that it's just the schedule that's worked for me).  Could that maybe answer my first question?  Should I wash more often to have cleaner hair?

Thanks!

i wash my bristle hairbrush every time i wash my hair. or more often.  i think the gray stuff is just dust and accumulating stuff.  i wash my hair once every two weeks...or when really dirty.  i think it helps the oil settle.

i was so proud the other day--of not being dependent on commercial products and that people couldn't even tell the difference. my hair is way softer!
