The Awesome ONE THREAD for Dec. 5th - Dec. 11th - Page 6

I love the name Liam for a boy, but DP just will NOT go for it!  And Connor too.  With the very irish last name it would sound so nice.  But again, DP nay-says them all!

TTC - I am so sorry AF showed up and about your puppy. I hope he does not develop a sever case.

Lovingbaby - Sorry AF came (((hug)))

Stevi - Ugg, I am sorry.

Loving the name talk! Keep it up. No clue on another girl name. Boy names could include Eamon Robert, Joshua Martin, James Nolan... that is all we have so far.

ValH--Thanks!!

After 4 seizures in a 7-hour period, blood work was done and anti-seizure and anti-anxiety meds were prescribed. BOO. At least the medicine's cheap. Whatever it takes for her to quit having seizures. =( I feel so, so, so bad for her.

And this is most definitely AF. Crampsss. But yes, my cycle was 1-day longer! WOO!!!

I guess if you're going to have a bad day, you might as well get all the bad over with at once, right?

I love Liam, too. And Olivia!!! But DH hates both of those. =( Men.

So I'm back and Waiting to Know.

The witch is scheduled to arrive on my birthday - could be awesome (sarcastic) OR AWESOME (best birthday present ever)!!

Sooo.. names.. my DH wants a repeat of his name.. unfortunately his first name's nickname is a nickname for a man's baby making part biglaugh.gif which is why my DH goes by his middle name.  I have a hard time with it - but I do like the tradition of repeating the name of the father.  It's just too bad the nickname is what it is.  For a girl.. Dh told me before we got married that he liked Daphne.. and I really love it to.  I also like Scarlet and Olivia.

Names are so fun and I'm just like TTCOC - I need to have 1 million children to use all of the names I love.  Musicoholic made a good point, it is not cool when you meet someone that you don't like or find difficult, it just ruins the name.  So NOBODY is allowed to tell me a bad Daphne story.  Thanks. nono02.gif

I'm sorry about your dog, TTCCOC. I hope these meds work well.

Taxlady- if you like the idea of repeating dh's name, why not give a baby your dh's middle name, or a variation of it? Or have dh's first name as a baby middle name? I'm not a fan of repeating names, but if we have a boy then we'll give it the same middle name as dp (which is his dad's middle name and so on).

TTCChloeorConner...   I used to give meds to dogs by sticking the pill in a bite of hot dog. Most dogs inhale it so quickly, they never notice the pill.

AAM...   I don't think I ovulated early. i was sick right around when I ovulated, and I think that threw off my LP. Whenever I am sick, I have super short cycles. I had an 11 day one once!

My G'ma's middle name was Daphne (her first name was Ailsa, and all her friends called her Sue).... (and just so you know, my G'ma was AWESOME!!!)

I've always thought it was a pretty name too!  And it's the name of a pretty flower...

Thanks guys... I was super bummed this morning.  But in a way every cycle I don't conceive is another month I get to increase my seniority and maybe get a permanent job posting before taking a mat leave.  And I know there are a lot of you ttc that have been at it a lot longer :(

I think I am going to take it easy this cycle.  I didn't get my thermometer in the mail yet, so I think I won't temp until the new year... I know approx when I'll O and am just hoping to BD every other day around then.  I wonder if its the stress my dh has been under at work these past few months.

Nicole - sorry about your dog, I hope those meds work for him.  Today must have been a very stressful and scary day for you two.

As for names... I have a list on my computer, one side is blue and one is pink!  For boys, I used all my favs on my two boys... William Andrew, and Michael Stewart, I would love Charles, Brayden or Jonathan.  And for girls... Charlotte, Kalais/Kaleigh (my dh loves this I am unsure how to spell it), or some name that would have Eddie as a nick name.  I think if we have another one it will have Edd in the name somehow after a good friend of ours :( :)

TTCCorC - So sorry that you'll have to start meds for your dog.  I know that stinks.  I have a cat that has to take meds every day.  I think dogs are usually pretty easy to give meds to, especially if they aren't picky eaters.  With my cat, it's a chore every day, complete with me chasing her around the couch.  But, it's a small price to pay for health (or mental health, in my cat's case).

Taxlady - I'm hoping we both get a great present for your birthday (AF is due about the same time for both of us).

LovingBaby - I hope you don't get much more seniority and get the heck out of here soon (with a BFP, of course).  :)

AFM - 3dpo, nothing to report.  I was wondering if the Clomid this cycle would effect the length of my LP... anyone that's taken Clomid know the answer?

OH Musicoholic.. thank you for the beautiful picture and great tidbit about your grandma!!  And StephandOwen, you have me thinking about that boys name now.  There are options and before I get to upset about the nickname, I need to get that BFP!! wink1.gif

TCCOC - I'm really sorry about your puppy.. isn't she lucky to have such a great mom like you?  I mean, you're practically almost a puppy doctor! Still that is very scary.. and I hope the meds help her live a long life.

ValH - Isn't your birthday soon too?  I hope I didn't forget the date and it's past us now.. If you were to get your BFP on my birthday - that would be a super wonderful gift for me!  love.gif

Lovingbaby - I'm with Valh - I certainly hope you don't get too much seniority around here.. not stressing sounds like a great plan.  Great names too!

I have loved the name posts.. so original and great.

TTC - I am so sorry about your dog :( I hope the meds do the trick. I have always just put the pills on the back of my dogs tongue and given him a treat afterwords. It seems to be the least messy and easiest for us all. The first time I tried putting it in food and he kept spitting it out and then I had a slimy nasty pill to try to deal with.

ValH and Taxlady - I meant seniority at work!  lol  I am a causal employee in health care and have to wait for permanent jobs to open up - so the longer it takes to conceive the more seniority I will get at work and hopefully get a permanent posting.  Thanks for the kinds words flowersforyou.gif

Thanks for the support, ladies. Yesterday sucked, to say the least. But DH and I both called into work, so it was nice to have a day off together, even under the circumstances that it was. =D

And I'm happy to say that after giving her meds, she's seizure free... Going on... 22 hours now!!! And the doctor called this morning and said the only "odd" thing about the bloodwork was her liver enzymes were a little elevated, but nothing to be of concern, so he's going to stop the meds after 5 days and see if they come back. FX that they don't come back and that this was just a freak thing!!! If not, I'm okay with the pills... ... ... Whatever it takes, I guess.

I wrap her pills in a little sliver of ham. I also give one to my other dog (Without the pills, of course), so that she doesn't get suspicious. She hoovers it so that the other dog doesn't get to it first. =D

AFM: CD2. Still happy that my cycle lengthened by a day though. And this period is more "normal" then my last few have been.

Is your lp normally short?  Then clomid should make it better.  It does mine.  If you have a normal lp, then if you O'd later than normal it could make it longer, but it shouldn't make you have a more than normal lp length.

afm: Temp dove this morning.  I don't know if yesterday was a fluke or what.  Maybe the clomid/progesterone isn't working like it normally does for me?  I'm 6dpo and super crampy today. Freaked out that af will arrive tomorrow and I'll have another short lp.  :(  I'd be PISSED

Taxlady - You are right, I do have a birthday next week.  Unfortunately, it wouldn't be far enough in my cycle for a BFP for my birthday, but I sure would take one for your birthday!

TTCCorC - Yay that your dog might not have to stay on the meds forever!  I hope he's better once the meds stop.

jillybeans - My LP without B-Complex is 12 days, but I start spotting about a week before that.  With B-Complex, it was 14 days, but still with a week of spotting beforehand.  I think the spotting is what the doctor was trying to fix with the Clomid.  But I'm guessing I shouldn't expect any longer than a 14 day LP with the Clomid, then, and hopefully much less spotting beforehand.  I hope the crampiness you are feeling is just a little eggie burrowing in for the long haul!

AFM - I had a crazy dream last night that I got a BFP at 10dpo.  I wasn't happy, though, because I was convinced that the test was faulty.  I took a second one, but screwed it up and got an error message.  Then I was devestated because there were no more tests, and I'd never know the truth.  It felt so real!  It makes me tempted to test at 10dpo... but I won't.  I hate wasting tests and seeing BFNs too much.

Val:  that is the same thing I was prescribed clomid for when I was ttc #1.  :)  I got pg my first cycle on clomid with twins!

Good luck with Clomid!  I hope you get to graduate soon!

Me:  Guitar solo was great!  Chorus concert tonight.  I can't wait until all these performances are over.  I'm beat!

TTCCoC: Sorry about your pup...but glad that it sounds like the meds are helping.  Having to pill every day can be annoying (especially if you want to go on vacation without your pet), but in the grand scheme of animal care it's not too bad.  I think that one possible reason it took me so long to get pregnant the first time is b/c my kitty (who was totally my "baby") had chronic renal failure and her care was very involved and it was a constant source of low-level stress for me.  I conceived 1 month after she passed away.

Stevi: Hopefully your cycle will be longer the next time around...crossing fingers for you!

jillybeans: could it be an implantation dip?

AFM, settling into Day 1 of my new cycle.   Enjoying Aunt Flow's visit...no, not really.  But, here's the thing that seems not so ideal: Assuming I O around CD14, we'll be at DH's parents' house for Xmas, sharing a bedroom with DS.  Now, there will be another empty bedroom, but I'm not comfortable leaving DS alone all night b/c the house isn't toddler-proofed or anything.  I told DH we may need to sneak out to the other bedroom...and would his parents notice if the bed in the room "not being used" gets a little rumpled...?

Re. names, I have a girl name that I love and DH really likes, too...but it's one of those names that lends itself really easy to teasing.  I hadn't ever seen it as a name for a person before (it's a flower name)...until TODAY.  I just read an article at babble.com and the someone had used the name for her daughter.  For a boy (or a girl, too...), I love August, but DH was not onboard with this name when we were choosing names for DS.

jillybeans - I hope I have the "beginner's luck" on Clomid like you did, but minus the twins part... well, come to think of it, I'll take whatever I get get!  Thanks for being my Clomid advisor!

sleeping beauty - Glad your guitar solo was great!  Good luck at the concert tonight.

not_telling - I say sneak away to the unused bedroom while DS is sleeping.  As for the sheets getting rumpled, there's always the floor.  ;)
