and what do you do when your kid trying to bite you makes you laugh?

My DD 17 mo just started biting me.  Or trying to.  She gets a crazed wild animal look in her eyes and tries to bite my face, while we are playing, tumbling, etc which is of course, terrifying to see big baby chompers coming at your nose.  But also hilarious and cute.  I try REALLY HARD not to crack up and encourage her and try to just redirect her away, or redirect her with "Give kisses!"  and "No bite!  Ouch!"  or "Bite blankey!"  But occasionally I laugh because she is SO DELIGHTED with my face that she wants to bite it.

Am I raising a biter?

sorry, no advice but it sounds similar to my 15 mo old DS, except he likes to head butt...sigh.

That's hilarious! I don't know if you are raising a biter, but I will tell you that my daughter looooved to bite my knees to make me laugh, because it tickled! The only problem was that she then tried to bite DH's adam's apple. She has largely grown out of biting, she went through a pretty short phase of it, and another phase where she was slapping. She occasionally does both but it isn't too often or that big of a deal.

My 15 month old blows on my knees. It really tickles. I giggle so much. I know it is not the same, but I just think 1 yr olds are so funny!

Everything my 21-month-old son does makes me laugh. I had the same problem when I taught middle school. I'm doomed...

I know, I keep laughing at all the things I am *supposed* to be teaching her not to do. Like apply beans to her cheeks like face cream, eat lotion, etc. I am also doomed.
