i was sitting next to dd on the couch today , and she was looking at a book. all the sudden i realized she was reading it! not the long or awkward words, but a good portion of it. i have never read this book to her (she's really good at memorizing them), so i know she was actually reading it. she's almost 7, and we have not worked too much on reading together because it would frustrate her. so she's taught herself. i knew she could do the little bob type books with short words, but this was a longer like actual book with a plot and everything.
ok, i'm still in shock and dh seems un-impressed so i needed to come and get it out somewhere. lol. i have no idea how long she's been reading either, she alway shuts herself in her room with her books. guess i need to pay closer attention!
