Odd dream...would this work? Not that I ever recommend trying

So I'm getting to the end of my pregnancy so that means the weird gotta save the baby dreams have started.

So last night I'm on a plane with Baby #2 (gender unknown) and the plane can't land, but there are parachutes for everyone. I put the baby tightly in my moby then straps over moby and jump.

Everything in the dream went ok....

So it got me thinking would this possibly work? I can't think of any other solution for that kinda situation You wouldn't be able to keep kids in arms....

I know random upsidedown.gif

Parachutes have chest straps to make sure they stay on, so next time you have that crazy pregnancy dream, be sure to add in working the chest strap under the moby and fastening it.lol.gif

And it'd never ever be safe enough to do as a sport, but I for one would certainly make the attempt if I were ever in a position where I HAD to parachute out of a plane.

That is a crazy preggo dream!

I've had similar disaster thoughts about what I would do with a non swimming kiddo if we had to swim in like a river or a flash flood or something.  Totally unrealistic but after playing around at the pool this summer I realized that I can kind of swim with DD's head on my neck so she can breathe.  But she wouldn't hang on for very long.  So... a reeeally high ruck and careful swimming and maybe?

Well, it'd certainly be easier treading water with baby in a carrier.

I was just thinking about that one family in the tsunami recently. Mom held onto the 2 year old because she knew the 2 yo would have NO chance and the 5 year old would have a hair more than NO chance. Basically, with a carrier (and more time) she would've been able to hold onto both of them.

Lol, obviously not something you'd want to do but in an effort to save both your lives?  Hell yes!  I think it would work too.  As long as you wrapped REALLY tight.  A SSC would work really well too I think...

I haven't heard the story about the mom in the tsunami - did she lose either of her children?  :(

LOL that's so funny. I can't wait to get into the "crazy dream" stage of this pregnancy!

All survived! As did their dad/husband who was upstairs.

I would think a ridiculously high ruck on your back with a toddler would totally work. It would keep their head as high or higher than yours and they would still have upper body movement to hang on with their hands or lift their head up even more.

Having parachuted and worn a moby, I kinda feel like the force of the jump could force the baby up out of the Moby, but it probably depends on what kind of plane and how you are getting out. With a military jump you need a "tight" body position - everything tucked in and tense. I feel like the force could push the baby up and out. My other jumps have been out of a tiny cesna and I think we almost dove out - again, not what I'd want to do with a moby..... now - a tight woven wrap might be a different story.....

Oh, definitely NOT with a moby! lol. I'd use my sturdiest woven for sure, maybe rosie. I think I'd also spread out the fabric so much it would cover DS's head.
