One last update... I signed the stay away order, and it took five days for his attorney to respond that she had received my fax, and to let me know the X signed it. (ugh). I got slightly worried that he'd try to pull more crap (which he has been, but not really breaking the rules/law). She is sending me the endorsed copy as soon as she receives it back from the judge. (I'm thinking about framing it lol).

My mother ended up filing a police report regarding the creep-o letters and conservator-ship paperwork. She, and the rest of my family are now included in the order. So now, they're all at peace.

I also received word that, the day after the hearing, he had tried to have himself un-banned from the local pub, from which he was banned for attempting to assault, and harass my roommate (plus my further filing of the T.R.O.). The manager said she stood by the other bartender's decision, meaning N-O. (I was omw to Disneyland with current DP when I found out, we both got a huge laugh out of it, as did roomie).

Thought you all would like to hear (and hope you guys get a bit of a laugh too).

Did you get a stay away or a restraining order? I just want to warn you that if it is only a stay away order it is next to impossible to enforce. You have to go back to court with any proof you may have and file contempt charges. A very long and difficult process. With a restraining order you can call the cops and he immediately gets arrested. My first judge only granted me a stay away at first and my ex continuously violated the order but the police couldn't enforce the order. It took me an additional two years to finally get an actual restraining order. Your ex sounds exactly like my ex. Right up to conservatorship part. Congrats, I hope this grants you immense peace and protection from that man.

Avani: I got a stay-away order. I actually spoke to the court mediators about the differences that day. (I asked them straight out if X violates it, if I'd be able to call the police.) They assured me, as did X's attorney, my would-have-been attorney(s), and the police, that it is entirely enforceable. When I spoke to the police (at the time my mother filed the harassment charges), the officer said that because X mailed the stuff when my family was not protected (under the original restraining order), it was not in violation. And although I had the stay way order with me, because mom received the mail the day of the hearing, the stay away didn't apply, as the restraining order was in place. The officer (as I was told by two other officers on separate occasions) said that he is skating a fine line, and he's making calculated moves. He said if I had received the mail directly it would have been a violation, and if my mom had received it when the stay away order went into effect, it would have been a violation, and in both situations they would have gone a picked him up.

Things have definitely chilled out since the hearing (aside from X's retardedness) and I do feel a whole lot safer and happier with the outcome.

Seriously? Why couldn't any of *my* UAV ex's been this entertaining?! Ezra's sperm donor was pretty funny...but yours still takes the cake. If we're going to have to put up with crazies, we might as well get a couple laughs out of it in the process.

Hahahaha. I know right?? When I read it, I kept going from shocked to insulted to cracking up laughing. I couldn't not laugh. Of all the ridiculous allegations he could have made...

And yes, I agree, we deserve a couple of laughs.
