DH wants another baby or two. I had my tubes tied almost 4 years ago, right after our youngest child was born. So, how should we go about this?

IVF is more expensive (about twice the cost of tubal reversal), but we wouldn't have to worry about birth control again after having a baby. Chances of twins are increased, so we might be able to get 2 for 1. winky.gif

Tubal reversal means we'd have the experience of TTC, and the excitement of "Am I? Am I not?" buying hpts, etc. However, the chance of a tubal pregnancy is higher.

I've been looking at the statistics for the specific specialists we'd go to.

So far it looks like the pregnancy rate after reanastomosis (tubal reversal) is 60-80%. The ectopic rate is 1-2%.

Regarding IVF, 42% of transfers result in live births. 30.3% of pregnancies are with twins.

If we go through IVF, we'd probably only do 2 cycles (if the first one doesn't work).

If we do a tubal reversal, we may end up just not using birth control in the future and have whatever children come to us. Though my husband is saying he wants 1 or 2 more, he's mentioned letting nature take its course if we get the reversal.

BTW, I've always been VERY fertile. Anytime I could've gotten pregnant I did. I'm turning 30 years old soon.

Cost really isn't a big issue, but a tubal reversal means we could TTC earlier.

So, what would you suggest?
