Today, I was getting something out of the fridge when I heard peeing.

I peeked over to see dd peeing into her POTTY!!!!  That she got all by herself from the bathroom.

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!

(Plus it's been over a week since any accidents.)

I'll continue to peek in, but it's amazing how much I've already forgotten about the early ECing days, which is where most questions seem to come in. That's why I've been doing waaay more reading than posting in here of late.

YaaayyyyY!  That's right around when Nell started taking herself reliably too.  It took a year for us to stop being stupidly, grinningly, happy (inside) each and every time she took herself to the potty (which she did all the time).  What fun!  Congratulations!

*sigh* What does it mean when they take themselves for months and months (I'd say 6-8 months, with no help, and very few accidents), and then turn to 100% regression (and REFUSE the potty completely)? She'll even wet her pants (if wearing underwear) and complain when I try to change her into something dry. We're going on 5 months of this regression... 

I hope yours sticks, SC!! Although it sounds a lot like your daughter is nothing like mine, and you won't have to call graduate more than once... Thank goodness for that. lol!

Yay sapphirechan! I just peeked in here for the first time in...forever!...and it's so cool to see so many of us who've been in this thread together since our LOs were born now having grads! My DD has been a grad forever now, but she still almost never goes by herself--wants me to take her. She tells me when she needs to go, though. We still have misses at night sometimes, but I don't count those since I never did EC at night anyway....

anyway, congratulations to Lina! And Hannah! And sgmom, hang in there! She'll get it soon. :)

I'm hoping we're getting any remaining accidents out of the way by having to deal with all the nighttime accidents. She's started peeing between 4am and 6am. Which is right when I get my deepest sleep, so I keep having dreams about warm baths and waking up going "ewwwwwww". I'm going to start setting an alarm to hopefully wake me up to take her.

mmm, I am dealing with this very thing right now and all I can come up with is that it must be an independence thing.  She went all by herself- without even a suggestion for over a year! and then...the puddles... Ithink it is a combination of being really excited and involved in her play, and being more independent and refusing (when I see her being too busy to take care of her body and suggest).  My strategy at this point...do no harm and wait it out.  I continue to clean up puddles that I haven't seen in 1+ years and tell her to change her own clothes and put dirty ones in the hamper.  I feel like she will tire of experimenting soon and I believe that she knows how this hygiene system works- so pestering will only prolong.  I am frustrated though, and it isn't always easy to mop up urine :) but I try to think of it as my daughter's first foray into performance art.
