Vitex headaches- how long will it last?!

I started drinking vitex/chasteberry tea yesterday.  Within a couple hours of the first cup, I got a killer headache.  It was gone this morning but came back after drinking my first cup of tea this morning and hasn't gone away.  I know other people have experienced the same.  How long will it last?  Does it mean I made it too strong?  Do I just need to toughen up and live through it?  Thanks!

Ugh, the Vitex headache! Mine lasted pretty much right up until the day I O'd.. I don't know if that is typical but they were such a nuisance. I was taking the pills 2-3 times a day, and so just when it would start to go away I'd have to take another pill. Mine were right at the base of my neck, are yours all over or localized?

Hopefully it won't go on much longer than O for you either, good luck with it!

Were you still taking them when you O'd and the headache went away?  I hope that is how long it lasts.  Mine is right in the front of my forehead and once & a while will shoot through my entire head.  It is time to drink another cup of tea and I'm not looking forward to it.

I am still taking them now, 6 DPO, one in the morning and one at night.  How far away from O are you? &ou can probably try taking aspirin. They say that aspirin makes your uterine lining better to concieve a baby anyway, so maybe the 81mg will do the trick and kick the headaches. I only just started aspirin after O b/c I was skeptical about taking it- I have a borderline blood disorder that aspirin isn't recommended. But I am desperate to have this stick, so here I go, taking it every morning.

Thanks for the input and good luck with this month!  I should O in about 5-7 days.  I'm still breastfeeding my 3 year old so I am not sure if I'll take asprin or not.  Today hasn't been as bad with the headache.  I haven't had my second cup of tea- kind of dreading it really.  If this isn't the month, then I might try the asprin next month to kick the headaches and maybe help it stick.

Vitex headache?! Is that why I have had a migraine for two days? How come I've never heard of this before?! Gah! Like the Vitex nausea and the taste of that awful stuff wasn't bad enough?

Well, now I have the exact same questions as the OP!

I haven't had any nausea or the bad taste cuz mine are pills, but I don't know if I could have kept it up through those! I can't say for sure the heads are from vitex but it sure seemed to come on right after taking it.

I suffered headaches, too, with Vitex. Trolled the internet and found a tip to take them (pills) at night. That solution worked for me. Took pills all cycle long....

HTH!

I've never had a headache from the pills, but I take them at night.

Hmmm now I am wondering. I started taking Vitex again but am taking it in tincture form and I have had some MASSIVE headaches the last couple of days...

I used vitex one month (capsules) one month when we were TTC and the headaches/migraines were horrendous.

I think it's a common side effect, I had to stop.  It was horrible.

I not convinced Vitex does anything anyways ,not for me anyways except make me hurt.

Maca on the other hand seemed great and did not cause me any issues.

I'm on cycle 2 now with vitex, do this is week 7 I guess, and after the first 2 weeks I haven't had any headaches, so maybe just try & stick with it. But I'd agree, I'm not sure it is doing anything (yet??) My o date has gone 3 days later and my lp is still only 11 days. Anyone share a success story?
