OPK testing question

How often do you test with OPKs?  I was doing just once a day like the instructions said but after reading this it seems maybe I should test 2x per day.  That's a lot of tests, though!

Opinions/experiences?

With the cheaper (Answer) brand, I would test once a day earlier in the cycle, and then around CD12 start testing twice a day until I got a positive (usually O around CD15-16).  Now I'm using the more expensive digital OPKs, so I'm only testing once a day - unless I'm having noticable O signs that makes me think I may be Oing that day.  I've never had a problem getting positives with the digital OPKs - I get two days of positives, and then I'll O the next day.

Well if you look at the time she took the tests, her best shot was testing between 10 AM and 5 PM, which is what I've seen recommended.  I would test once a day unless I was almost sure I was going to O any day, then I use 2 a day- one in the morning one in the evening.  It is a lot of tests, which is why I order the IC ones.  Although I've only used OPKs successfully one cycle, and I got a positive test two days in a row.  I think I tested around 11 AM or noon and the second day my OPK was neg by 4 PM.  I O'd the day after that one.
