Hi, this is my story

My name is Samantha and this is my story:

When I was 20 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 3 Endometriosis.  I had laprascopic surgery in Sept 2006.  Over the next several months my doctor had several different types of birth controls in hopes of my menstruation to become less painful and to occur less frequently.  I was in constant agony still from the abdominal pain to the back pain and nausea.

The doctor decided to put me on the depo provera injection in May 2007.  The pain that I was suffering only increased and I became hospitalized for sometime.  After recovering from the depo injection, in October 2007 my doctor put me on the lupron depo 11.25mg injection.  I received my injection every 3 mths for 1 year and was practically pain free.  Sure I had my mood swings and hot/cold flashes but there was no pain and I never had any bleeding of any type or in any amount.  However, sure thing, once my medication wore off, I was back in the hospital for 3 weeks in Dec 2008 due to a blood infection that occurred shortly after I had my 1st menstruation after a year.

Once I recovered, I returned to my doctor in Feb 2009, I told him I needed something to happen so that my pain would go away and the only thing he would recommend is to have a full hysterectomy.  To me that was something I couldn't fathom as I was only 23 years old and wanted to have several children.  I decided to seek new medical guidance.

March 2009 I began to see another OBGYN who said that I should never have even heard of the word hysterectomy from my previous doctor unless all other plans had been exhausted.  Smitten with my new doctor he had put me on Seasonique and had me going to physical therapy twice a week.  For one year I went to physical therapy where I had cranial sacral work, back massages on a regular basis, pelvic floor massage, as well as viseral sacral massage done.  I still had pain but never nearly as bad as I had been.  However, all good things come to an end and after realizing my insurance would no longer cover my treatment after a year, I was again put on the lupron depo injection in Mar 2010.  The difference with this round of injections was that I had a full blown menstruation and all of my pain a week after my 1st injection.  I contacted the doctor and he said that was normal and that I'd be called on when my next shot was due.  However that time came and passed and I did not receive my second shot until mid-August.  I went almost 22wks between shots and almost 21 wks between periods.

In October my on-again off-again childhood sweetheart and I were married and after consulting my obgy in November we have agreed that TTC would be the best for my endometriosis and making my husband and I even happier because we've been wanting to get pregnant for months.  It has been 16 weeks now since my last menstruation and 17 weeks since my last injection.  Now the waiting game begins.

We're wanting to get pregnant now, however I know that it will take time because of the lupron but i'm not sure how long it normally takes to get pregnant after being off lupron.  I've had symptoms of being pregnant (nausea, heartburn, more frequent headaches, dizzy spells, more exhaustion than normal, frequent urination, some weird cravings) but I think those are just normal feelings after lupron wears off and that it may be a little psychological as well.  I have begun taking my prenatal vitamins and folic acid as the doctor has recommended.  I'm just in a confused state but an old friend MaerynPearl recommended for me to join this site.

welcome!  I've personally known a handful of women with severe endo that got pregnant easily!  I hope that happens for you!
