OMG! AMAZING NEWS!!

Sorry for the yelling, but I'm so excited and I have no one to share it with!! DH was in the hospital twice from mid October to early November. The first time for a scheduled surgery, was there for 3 or 4 days, the second time a week later for emergency surgery to fix something that went wrong with the first for a week and a half. The second time he requested and received a private room (the previous 3 times he's been in, he's had roommates who were afraid of the dark and had lights on & TV blaring 24 hrs a day, and nurses who weren't willing to tell them they need to turn them off/down), so I have been totally stressed out waiting for the bill, not wanting to spend anything for Xmas until we know the damage, etc. I've been worried that maybe the reason it's taking so long is that the insurance is taking issue w/ the private room or something and they are fighting the hospital, who knows. I finally couldn't take the wait any more and called the hospital billing dept to hopefully get a ballpark figure, or at least an idea of when we will know something. The woman I talked to said insurance PAID EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! We haven't gotten a bill b/c there is no bill!!! I don't quite believe it, and I will probably call back in a few days or a week or so to double check, but OMG!! I was really envisioning a bill of thousands of dollars, and now it looks like we may not have to pay anything. I can't even express how grateful I am. This is so amazing.

I'm glad to hear the news!

I can't imagine the stress of waiting for a hospital bill, and this is a good reminder not to take for granted that I never have to think about this.

How wonderful! It's always nice to have everything covered.

Congratulations! I live in a place where health care is public, too and I am SO grateful. Whenever I hear about the "awful wait times" in Canada, I think maybe; but I've always gotten good care anything really needed and so have my family and I NEVER worry about the financial fallout. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Go get yourself ready for the holidays, Mama, and here's to your family's health!!
