TMI Question

Thread Starter

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have several bouts of vaginal irritation this pregnancy.  Most of them, I'm confident, were yeast infections as they respoded very well to yeast treatment.  A couple of others I'm not so sure about, including the one I'm currently experiencing.  The strange thing is the vaginal discharge - it's like lotion.  I've had several globs of it come out (either into the toilet or on the toilet paper) and it literally looks/feels like a teaspoon or so of lotion.  No egg white, no stickiness, no clumpiness (could this be any grosser?).  Yesterday  such a large amount came out into the toilet that I momentarily thought it might be my mucus plug, but the consistency doesn't match any description I've ever read of a mucus plug.  I used some Monistat last night to see if that would help (and it may have - I'm less uncomfortable today than yesterday), but usually when I do have a yeast infection, the Monistat kind of burns and it didn't burn last night.  What could this be?  I only have the massive amounts of discharge when I have irritation down there.

Hi

I think it definately could be yeasty.  Keep up the treatment.  Good luck!

Well an increase of discharge can be very normal at the end of pregnancy, and a lotion like consistency isn't abnormal in and of itself.  Do you have any other symptoms?  Itching, redness, smell?
