My son (child #2) was my first with dairy allergies. He did the same screaming/puking/refusing to nurse deal and my supply dried up at 2 months (I supplemented with formula during this time before they told me to stop bf because he was "allergic to my milk" and had a dairy allergy-bad advice I wish I had a second opinion about back then as he just had dairy issues like my next two girls). I am terrified of my supply drying up this time. I can already tell my supply has dropped as I can not pump as much out-I went from 3.5 oz. to .5 oz pumped. She is still gaining weight, though, and was already over 2 lbs. over her birth weight at last check. So I want to make sure I can keep up my supply before she has gaining issues. Any tips on encouraging her to nurse during these strikes? How often should I be pumping? Any tips on storing breastmilk to freeze when you only pump a small amount at a time? Seems like an expensive waste to have .5 oz in those freezer bags but it says not to add warm milk to cold milk or frozen milk and I was pumping to donate to a friend.

My 1 month old seems to be having dairy allergy issues like my last three kids. Colicky, vomiting, green poop, etc. I have a bit of a heavy let-down as well. But for the past week baby has been refusing feedings. Usually just on the day where she vomits. She'll puke, eat maybe once over the next hour or two and then it's bedtime and we co-sleep and she usually wakes to eat at least 2-3 times between 11pm-8am. But the days when she pukes at night she won't eat all night. I wake her to eat usually by 4 when I get engorged and she won't eat at all. Then she will only moderately eat, if at all until about lunch time. I think my supply is dipping because of this while I wait for the milk to be out of my system. I just got a pump and have pumped a few times, including in the middle of the night last night. None of my breastfed children slept through the night so it concerns me that she does. Is this normal for ebf babies? Newborns, too? Will it mess up my supply or cause my period to return? Sounds like a stupid question, but other than a handful of times, not one of my other 3 girls sttn until 2 years old.
