Making homemade pasta

Do any of you make your own pasta noodles? I've made egg noodles before for chicken noodle soup and they've turned out okay, but I'm looking for a tried and true pasta recipe. I make spaghetti or lasagna once a week, it's one of the few prepackaged foods that I buy for us and I'd like to start making it here instead. Is there a way to dry it here at home and store it so I could make a bunch of noodles one day a month? I have a KitchenAid mixer, I just haven't bought the pasta attachment because I'm not sure that it's worth it.

Dh and I were just talking about this the other day.  We also use lots of pasta and would love to have it homemade from quality ingredients we can police.  Subbing . . . .

ETA:  this recipe looks fairly easy:  http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/05/homemade-pasta/
