gift for dad that a 4 year old can make?????

my son will be 4 in Jan and really wants to make a gift for dad

he has made pictures

is there something that dad can use in his day to day life?

- he does not wear ties so we skipped that one...lol

i was googling ipod touch cozy...was hoping to make one in felt and let ds draw on it with a marker

anything with handprints would be cool!

A t-shirt with handprints?  Buy a nice plain light colored one (or maybe he has one in his drawer that need sprucing up).  Ds can make handprints using fabric paint and you can help write something like #1 Dad or whatever.  Or he could make a large 1 with handprints.  And you could have dd footprints walking up the back.  Or something.

I made dh a father's day shirt his first year that had ds's feet printed on the left chest and I used rubber stamps to write "Father's Day 2001."  It turned out very nice.  Then when ds was about 3, he painted dh a t-shirt.  I covered the parts that I didn't want him to paint so it would look more purposeful and not like dh fell in some mud as I feared it might if he got too thorough.

Paint a coffee mug

Make a stepping stone for the garden with feet prints and mosaic tiles

Mix up Russian tea or hot cocoa mix, or something along those lines

Wrap yarn around a frozen OJ concentrate can and call it a pencil holder (I made one of these for my grandfather as a kid and he kept it on his desk for years )

make a shirt or anything else fabric you can iron on- if he draws a pic. you could scan it and print it on iron on tshirt paper. you could just draw on the paper with crayons if he dont push hard.
