Hi there,
Â
So we are moving back to the NL (after 6y in New England).
DH is Dutch and we've lived a bit in the Hague. We had planned to move back to The Hague but apparently life is taking us to Amsterdam...and we know nothing about Amsterdam (beyound visiting as a tourist). We had envisionned life by the sea in tranquil, green Den Haag so we are feeling quite overwhelmed by the idea of living in a capital again.
Â
Can anyone recommend neighborhoods? I read good things about the South of the city, and Amstelveen.
We are unschoolers- although potentially interested in Vrije Scholen or Sudbury/levenderwijs. We'd love an airy, not-to-dense, close to forest or water, neighborhood. I am a doula and BBW instructor, we would like to be part of a CSA, we need a yard, and we would love to remain close to the US community- where would we fit?
Â
We are also considering the closest cities on the Western side of the IJSELMEER, like Monickendam. How crunchy would these be and would they be a commuter nightmare? DH will work downtown.
Oh and we are looking to buy ( DH will get help from his job to purchase a house ).
Â
Thanks a lot for your help!
Isa
