What won't you miss about being pregnant? - Page 2

Ha, so many good ones!

-Hip pain and limping to the bathroom every 2 hours at night

-Round ligament pain! I didn't have this with DS1, and OMG it HURTS! It only happens rarely now and is not even close to being as painful, but I still can't move when it happens

-My belly skin has been really sore, sensitive, and slightly numb-feeling for quite some time

-I dislike being the center of attention so I don't like being stared at as I waddle along

-I am also completely unmotivated. I really hope I get the nesting urge this time

-Having to pay so much attention to what I eat, like, "I HAVE to vegetables now," or "I've had enough grains today," etc.

Actually I have the opposite problem! While I don't expect special treatment just because I am pregnant, I am 8 months, in pain, and I would really appreciate it if someone would...I don't know, open a door for me once in a while, or just not put carts in the middle of the grocery store aisle so I can waddle safely while holding my 3 year old's hand.  Or not cut me off in the parking lot so they can get the first parking space and I have to walk really really far.  Sorry, just spent the afternoon shopping, it's a few weeks before the holiday and the day before bad weather, so things were crazy and it made me cranky!

Or how about when grocery shopping, the bagger shoves as much stuff as possible into one bag that is so heavy you can't possibly carry it? I mean, I bring my own bags, it's OK to use them all! Jeez, I can barely put the stuff in the trunk. At least DH carries them in the house.

Ugh... definitely the staring at my beach ball belly... it's been making me very self-conscious lately!

I am a *little* bit clumsy to begin with, but pregnancy has REALLY given me the worst "dropsies." It's annoys me so bad some days I could just throw a screaming fit.

It will be nice to be able to get some sleep between the hours of three and eight am irked.gif

Random people touching my belly - and then rubbing in a slow molestation type motion.

Not sleeping during normal hours - whatever those are.

People always having a word of advice when they don't know what the heck they are talking about.

SPD

Not being able to sleep on my belly.

Not being able to even fit regular maternity clothes (the twins have DONE IT for me! LOL!)

Not being able to walk long distances - I have to use wheelchairs or motorized carts if I'm going to stand or walk more than five minutes.

Having to ask for help with SO MUCH. Getting out of the car, getting out of the bed, picking my daughter up...etc...

Remind me, is this your first pregnancy? If so, and you decide to have more children, trust me you get more "ballsy" with the second one. I have no qualms about grabbing someone's hand and saying, "Please don't." or stepping backwards a step or two.

I won't miss not feeling like eating normal healthy foods.  Usually I'm a health nut, but all I want are easy to make carbs and juice.

Brand new hip pain as of last week or so.

Also brand new carpal tunnel in my right hand at night - hurts so bad I've been practicing my deep breathing for it!  never had it before in my life.

fatigue, can't ever get comfortable lately except right after yoga

won't miss worrying about things potentially going wrong.  but then I know as a new mother I'll have all kinds of new things to worry about.  hopefully I'll be able to stay somewhat zen (and not like my own mother!)

I won't miss randomly throwing up in the third trimester!

Feeling like a rode an uncomfortable bike seat.

Snoring!

I wasn't able to eat nearly as healthy this time. I went all out with DS, but man, I just have not been able to stomach things like chicken stock and veggies.

Also, I have never had anyone come up to me and rub my belly or offer advice, with this pregnancy or the last one! I must have a pretty strong aura of "Don't touch me!" I would probably recoil in disgust if a stranger touched my stomach. Eeww. Unless it was a little kid, then it would be cute.

Drooling in my sleep....I have to flip my pillow each time I wake up because it's SOAKED

I won't miss the feeling of the baby's head slamming against my cervix like a jackhammer every time I cough.  Darnit, I caught my kids' coughs.

Nope, it's my third viable. And more people want to touch my stomach because of the fact that I am pregnant with twins. I've even had sneak attacks from the back. I usually do grab hands or say no when I can see it coming, but other times I am caugt off guard ESPECIALLY by strangers that feel it's okay to molest me, that I have a loss of speech for a bit.

I appreciate the 'bitch' session. Sometimes it's so cathartic. I won't miss people from all across the parenting theory spectrum advising my husband and I.

"Have you decided on vaccines/circumcision/ birth intervention?"

"Yes, I appreciate your concern, but we made up our mind and we would prefer not to discuss it."

"BUT HAVE YOU READ THESE SCARY SCREWED STUDIES THAT SUPPORT MY POINT OF VIEW?! PARENT LIKE ME OR YOUR BABY/VAGINA/MARRIAGE WILL EXPLODE."

Or better yet. "I DON'T HAVE ANY WAY TO SUPPORT MY POINT OF VIEW, BUT I'M PREPARED TO FREAK OUT IF YOU DON'T AGREE TO PARENT LIKE I DO!!!"

"Wow, thanks, we'll keep that in mind."

And oh boy, I was the most kale/oat/soy milk lovin generally healthy person I knew until I got so sick.(hyperemesis) Then whatever I could keep down became king. I lived on a box of bagel bites and a red gatorade each day. ew wtf? :)

Oh my god, I thought it was just me!! Its disgusting isn't it, I feel asleep on my poor DH chest the other night and woke up to him wiping his chest dry!!

I won't miss peeing my pants and having a big loogie on the TP when I wipe.  It is so gross that I HAVE to change my underware a few times a day!  I am also not able to sleep well anymore.  and to top it off I am trying to get DD to sleep without a pull up on and she wakes up in the middle of the night to come to bed with me because big daddy is out of town.  So I have to actually get up and take her to the bathroom, sit her on the toilet (Because she isn't really awake) and hold her there because she is worried about falling in. (no problems during the day tho.) and then she wants me to snuggle her.  I really like snuggling but she wants to do it a certain way and it is almost never comfortable for me so I have to wait till she falls asleep and then adjust... then I get feet in my back... why oh why is it that I have a king size bed and a 3 year old and an adult in it and I am getting kicked half the night?????!?!?!?!?!  ok rant over.

I sure won't miss...

yeah, back pain

waking up at three am for a snack

peeing constantly

super low blood pressure so that I almost pass out if I turn around too fast (or stand up...)

swollen ankles after a day working

wearing sweat pants all the time

no coffee or espresso

But. In all fairness....I love being pregnant. I wanted this for SO long. I have no complaints, really...this is the happiest I have ever been.

(Sorry to be corny, but it's true!)

A few things-mostly mentioned by others.

*Peeing all the time, but not much sometimes-annoying!

*Bending down to hook 3 dogs up to leashes & walking them. Is fine w/o the belly n the way.

*Alcohol!!! So I've had a few sips when hubby drinks but that's all. Oh how I could go for some wine-yum!

*Going up/down stairs & getting out of breath. We have 3 flights in our condo.

*Can't wait to just stand & do something w/o feeling like I need to take a rest.

*Swollen feet-only one is bad & just started.
