Magazines? Like "The Mailbox"?

I stumbled across "The Mailbox" magazine at our local toy/education supplies store and I sort of like it.  I definitely like the idea of a new bunch of ideas being delivered to my door periodically to help me organize my time with my boys, 4 and 2. 

Are there others out there that folks here recommend?  It's a magazine with a bunch of ideas for preschool teachers (though they have other magazines for other ages...)  I am not sure we are really homeschooling-- I do not yet have a lot of classic schooling supplies (like pocket charts, sentence strips, etc.) but appreciate ideas for educational songs, games, and art projects.

Just so you know, we don't use pocket charts or sentence strips here.  Whether or not you hs, don't let "supplies" define what you think schooling (ps or hs) is.

LOL!  I know you don't have to go in for all the teacher teachy stuff to homeschool.  But The Mailbox magazine seems to assume that you have a lot of that stuff at your disposal, and that you have a classroom full of kids that can fill a bulletin board with artwork.  It's not aimed at the homeschool situation. 

I guess homeschool is what we have here... except that when they are this young, it sort of seems that the line between active parenting and homeschooling is pretty blurry!

The Mailbox magazine people have books of their best ideas.  Not sure if that would help or not.  Also, a lot of libraries get the magazine--so you can go in once per month (or whatever) and make copies of the stuff you like.

"Family Fun" is good too, I agree.

Just went to check- I knew Family Fun was on Facebook, and posts updates daily.  The Mailbox is too!  You might want to check it out!

I have a bunch of the Mailbox magazines I've picked up from yard sales and booksales. I also have a bunch of Family Fun magazines, and I look through it at the Dr office etc.

What I like(d) even more for preschoolers are the Brighter Vision Learning Adventure books. They stopped selling new products but you can still get them on ebay, Amazon, or like me at yard sales and booksales.

They have different skill levels, with different themes at each level. I loved these and used them more than mailbox or family fun.

The NORAD website has games up right now, and on christmas Eve, you can track Santa's journey across the world.  You can click on different places he has been, and get a small Geography/ History/ culture lesson.
