I'm sure the information is out there but I can't seem to find it right now.

I'm wondering how many(or what %) of the kids that get pertussis are vaxed and how many are not? Can someone help me out with this please?Â

Most things I look at it's roughly half anf half. In some reports well over half are vaccinated
Â
Vaccinated kids are often misdiagnosed or are asymptomatic, but still spread it to others.

Make sure you're comparing apples to apples here.  If you said "Most kids that got WC were vaccinated" then... so what? That's only relevant if the number of vaxed vs. non-vaxed kids are 50-50. Lets assume vaxing gives you a 90% protection, while those unvaxed have only a 10% chance of not getting WC if exposed. Now let's assume 99% of kids ARE vaccinated. In a population of 10,000 exposed children, that would mean you'd have 990 vaccinated children catching WC, and only 90 non-vaccinated kids getting it. Vaccinated kids are WAY more likely to catch it, by gross numbers. But that doesn't change that their CHANCES of getting it are much smaller.
