Ok, I'm new on here. My baby is 10 months and has gone from Pampers to 7th Generation, now thinking about cloth. I just watched a promo on a show the other day about them. I want to try them, but the more I read, the more I am confused. Here's what I need for this working mom:

1. A diaper that is quick to get on. My son wiggles the minute I put him on his back, so pinning and buttoning is not gonna happen at all. I need something quick, like a disposable, and something that is velcro, also like a disposable.

2. I really want something that's all in one. Something I can just throw in the washer, pull it out and throw on him, not place a cover on and an insert. That seems like way too much work. I have to grab and go.

3. Something that is free of chemicals, dyes, etc. Would prefer organic, but am ok to look at others that are not.

On the promo, the all in one diaper looked appealing to me b/c it truly was all in one like I want, however, when I am searching "all in one" diapers, I am seeing inserts and covers along with them. That to me isn't all in one.

Please help. I'm a little frustrated and want someone to just tell me what to try first that is quick and convienent.

After 3 years of cloth diapering 2 kids my fave go-to diaper is an AI2.  It's just like an AIO, but the soaker isn't sewn in, which makes washing and drying WAY easier.

Let me know if you're looking for certain makers and I'll spam you with my faves :)

I'm not a fan of mass-produced diapers, I prefer to support WAHMs, but here is the BumGenius Ai2 & the SEZ AIO

Anything with velcro and also just one piece and a natural fiber is actually going to be hard to care for.  All-in-ones take a long time to dry, and velcro does not like dryers (it will stop sticking), so I would advise you to pick what is most important to you.  If you want easy, natural fiber all-in-one, try the bumGenius Elemental/Organic - it is organic cotton all-in-one that doesn't take forever to dry, is one-size, but it is a snap closure - but that's what allows you to put it in the dryer.  If the velcro is the most important to you, try the bumGenius 4.0 one-size pocket - you can get it in velcro, but the insert comes out and goes in the dryer, but you hang the shells.  My personal favorite is the FuzziBunz one-size pocket b/c it washes and dries easily b/c it is a pocket diaper and the insert comes out, and it is snap, so it lasts forever, and it fits every baby.

So I'm trying to visualize the insert. Is there a middle part of the diaper that's open, so when you insert the insert pad,the poop and pee is getting on that, thus essentially not getting on the diaper part. Is that why you can take them out of the diaper, wash and dry them. If that's the case, would you only have to wash the diaper if the baby leaked onto it? I guess I'm trying to see the benefit of the insert vserses being all in one diaper. Gosh, I wish there was a store around with all these. I'm such a visual person. I have to picture what's going on in my head.

Well, after many, may youtube videos, lots of visual demonstrations, I decided on Bumgenius 3.0 pockets, both snap and velcro, and Bumgenius AIO organic elements. Goign to try them all an dsee which I like, then order more of those. Thanks for the input:)
