Need Laundry Detergent Recipe

Thread Starter

DH got laid off last week, no warning, so I'm trying to save money. I need a laundry detergent recipe. I googled a few, but I don't know where to find the supplies - Borax and washing soda. I want something tested, and not a random recipe. HELP!!

I use this:  http://www.duggarfamily.com/recipes.html      Scroll down to find it.  I use whatever soap is on sale, not just fels-naptha.  I've been using it about a year now wihtout any  issues.  I will say that I don't find it works for our diapers  but then again, not much does since we have a front loader.  :(  So I'm stuck with using Tide every time and Bac-out.  But otherwise, this detergent works great.  I can find Borax at Target and Wal-Mart but I can only find washing soda at my local grocery store(Stop and Shop).  I hear you can find washign soda in pool supply stores sold as "sodium carbonate." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_carbonate
