The "please wait" box runs and runs and my posts don't automatically show as posted

That title probably isn't very good. I don't know what to call this problem. Whenever I try to submit a new post, the "please wait" box pops up and just runs and runs. Eventually, I get tired of waiting and click the refresh button in my browser (Firefox). The reply box comes back with my post in it but my post is also now in the thread. I started a thread yesterday and coudn't figure out if it ever got posted. Apparently, it did because I got responses to it today but it never showed as submitted to me. This is something new that just started yesterday and only on this website. Any suggestions?

I'm having this problem too, and wanted to come by and ask about it.   Thanks MarineWife for asking first!!  I wanted to see if there is a way to put a "cancel" button in the "please wait" box - that way if it takes too long we can choose to stop it??

I think I fixed my problem by putting this website as an allowed website in my security software.

What page or pages were you accessing when this occurred? Or was it occurring for every page you tried to access?

This occurred for me every time I tried to submit either a new thread or new reply post. Like I said, I figured out that my problem was because of the update to my security software. I've got it fixed now by adding this website as a safe one to my list.

I was getting it mostly in PaP, and the Parenting forum.  I think it mostly happens when my internet is being slow for some reason - so it might not be related to MDC itself.  I was just hoping that there was some way of putting a "Cancel" button in the Please Wait box so that if its taking too long I could just cancel the action.

As a temporary fix, someone else told me when that happens to her she hits the "stop" button on her browser. Then she hits "submit" again on MDC and it works.

I've tried that, my stop button doesn't work when the please wait box is up - don't know why.

Mine didn't, either. That's why I tried the refresh button. Did you try adding this site to your list of safe sites in your security software?

I don't have security software b/c I have a mac.  Hmm....maybe I need to get it looked at?

I've also tried the refresh button, and it just refreshes to the please wait box!  Lol.  Oh well, I'm sure its just a glitch that will pass, and it really only happens when my internet is sssuuuuuppppeeerrrrrrrrrr slow.

Marine Wife, you said it disappeared when you added mothering.com to your list of allowed/trusted sites in your security software. Can you - and anyone else this occurred for - tell me what security software you are using?

I have the newest version of CA Internet Security Suite.

Thanks so much! We'll look into this further and see if there are any other applications that may be presenting and need to confirm their security. If we find anything more I'll post an update.
