Easy dress patterns for 3T dress/ matching waldorf doll dress

First off, let me say I am very much a beginner with a sewing machine.  I really want to make a dress for my DD for her birthday in February, with one to match her doll (15 inch Waldorf doll).  Does anyone have any pattern suggestions that would be suitable for a beginner?
