Talk to me about crib teething guard

Talk to me about teething guard rails on cribs..... plastic (what are they made out of) or should I go with cloth (concerned that LO might be too interested in cloth ones..... i.e. looking/trying to remove cloth cover instead of sleeping!). I just realized that LO has been removing the finish in the crib with his teeth!!!! Some how LO manages this between the time LO wakes up fussing before I get to LO (we're talking 90 seconds..... maybe two minutes tops if I am really sleeping hard). Kind of concerned about what LO has been ingesting..... so I would like to get a cover for it. Even though the crib is new I still don't like the idea of LO eating the finish.

If you have one, where did you get it?

Thanks!

I made one out of a crib bumper that we never used.  It was really easy - I just cut the bumper to size, quickly sewed up the ends and tied it over the rail with ribbon.  Didn't take long and was really inexpensive.  I looked at some cloth covers online, they are pretty pricey!

I made a cloth one too... Here's a pic (with my niece trying out the crib before baby came!!). DS actually hasn't even used the crib yet!   IMG_0221.JPG
