Underwire Nursing Bra?

Thread Starter

I am having a horrible time finding a decent nursing bra.  I am a plus sized mom, and i wore a 42F during this last pregnancy.  That bra still fits, but when i order that size in a nursing bra it is WAY TOO SMALL- and i really havent found any bigger sizes that arent underwire. (yes, I have tried Bravados entire line)

My LO is nearly 4 months old and has easily doubled his weight - is it risky at this age to wear an underwire?

Hi there! I had the same problem and ended up going to a specialty bra store. I got two of my favorite ones (a stretchy demi-cup bra) and had them make them nursing bras by adding hooks for the straps. So far I've been extremely pleased.  One note- if you do this make sure you can take the bra and fold the front down far enough- I almost bought a more expensive bra that had a higher underwire and I didn't realize until I tried to fold it down in the front that I couldn't access what I needed to! :)

Moving out to the general forum, as this is not a Breastfeeding Challenges issue (please see the forum guidelines for more details)
