My parents will be babysitting next week when my husband and I have a rare date night. I nurse our son to sleep every night, but won't be able to that night. I won't have access to a breast pump either. Any suggestions? Do I substitute milk? I haven't introduced him to any non-breast milk yet (he's 14 months). eek! What do I do?

Well I'm sure there will be a wide range of responses, but I'll just tell you what we've done. I nurse him full before I leave, leave food he can eat, my mother will let him sip a regular cup of cow's milk, juice, or water before putting him to sleep, and then I'll nurse him when I pick him up. If it's not a long period (more than 4 hours) it shouldn't affect your supply if you nurse him when you get home.

At that age my DD would just accept that fact that mom wasn't there and not expect any milk. She rejected a bottle at that age too.
Thanks for the advice!
