The Fabulous and Frisky "One Thread" December 12-19 - Page 3

Can I be moved to Waiting to be Ready, because I'm not sure where else I belong, since I am technically ready and have been for months, but need to take a break, mentally, and due to life circumstances. I think AF is coming tomorrow, but I won't be waiting to O again until April. I'm going to take this time to enjoy my baby niece, bond with my husband, understand my chart, and try and do whatever it takes to regulate my cycle and stop pre-AF spotting.

becoming- welcome! I hope you bounce back quickly from Nuvaring. My last cycle with Nuvaring was a year ago in October, and my cycle still fluctuates from 25-30 days with 2-3 days of pre-af spotting.  But, I had been on hormonal BC for 8 years- hard to believe it was that long.

TTCCoC- I hope your break from trying reduces your stress and creates you a baby!

Jilly, Savah, Callie- Congrats on your BFPs! Lots of Sticky Dust for you!

Steph- I dont think your DS would be confused once he gets a little bigger, I hope you get your BFP soon too!

Thanks, everyone, who was helping me try to figure out my ovulation date!

I had a HUGE spike today! I've never had one like this before, so hopefully it is a good sign.

15 DPO.  I woke up this morning to temp at the normal time.  The thermometer beeped pretty quickly so I figured my temp must have dropped.  Wrong.  It went UP again, to 98.8.  I couldn't help but wake my husband saying "oh my God -- it went UP again!".  He said, "I'm tired, go back to sleep".  So, I thought, okay, you're right, it's early and I'm tired too.  I laid in bed for another 10 min or so to wake myself up a bit then ran to get something to pee in.  Took a test and in way less than the required 3 min I had a blaring positive.  "OH MY GOD!" I yelled from the bathroom!  My husband said "Are we pregnant?!"  All I could say was "Oh my god!  We're gonna have a baby!".

EDD according to FF, August 22nd! Holy crap!  I'm PREGNANT!!!

ktbug: Now THAT looks like a good ovulation! :) Yay!

AFM: Nothing exciting... just chillin' at CD 7... trying to get all my Holiday crafts done. My sewing machine is completely farting out on me and I don't know why. I'm getting incredibly frustrated!!! Oh well, nothing exciting going on here at all so not much to say.

Thanks everyone!!!  It really doesn't feel real yet!!!  I am going to be so distracted at work today!  So far I've told a couple of my really good friends, which does make it seem more real, but still not quite REAL real.  I guess it's not really real until you have the baby in your arms though, right?

Now I need to come up with a good way to tell our parents at Christmas.  My parents won't be coming in for the holidays so I have to send them something to tell them so they can open it Christmas morning.  I think we'll tell my in-laws and my brother on Christmas Eve by giving them an early gift to open and having it be something that "tells" them.  But, we're still figuring it out.  Any ideas are welcome!!!!

I've always thought if it was around a gift-giving time when I get my BFP, I'd give my parents some type of gift - like a "world's greatest grandparent" shirt, or some kind of plaque about being a grandparent, something with the word "grandparent" in it.  The Cracker Barrel here usually has stuff like that.  They had a cute little suitcase that had "There's no place like grandma's" on it that I wanted to get one time.  Congrats again!!!

AFM.... I'm struggling with the age-old question... to test, or not to test??  I had a dream shortly after O about getting a BFP on 10dpo.  As I approach 10dpo, that's really messing with my head!  I have no real symptoms right now... the spotting has stopped, the cramps have stopped, my back still hurts occasionally, boobs are sore (but not unusually so for LP), and my temp is normal.  So should I test on Thursday (using the last test that I've had in my drawer since summer)... or should I avoid the BFN and wait it out?  Thoughts and opinions???

Congrats Lauren!! How exciting!

We bought a picture frame at Kohls over black friday that has a saying about grandparents and grandkids. There are 2 spots for pictures. We figure if we get a BFP we'll put a picture of ds in one and an early u/s picture in the other (I will end up getting early ultrasounds because of my bicornuate uterus) and give it to dp's parents. If we don't get a BFP then we'll just put two pictures of ds in it and give it to them. LOL! I have no idea what we'll do for my parents. We don't live near them so we will most likely tell them on the phone (unless we get lucky and have a trip planned to go up there around the time we would tell).

Lauren - OMG THAT IS SO EXCITING!!!!! I was sure we would be getting good news from you this morning, this is awesome! joy.gif

ValH - Do you usually start spotting before 10 DPO? If so, I would definitely test if there hasn't been any spotting by then.

Congrats on all the good news!!  How exciting!  :joy

Does anyone have a clue how I can go about calculating when I'll ovulate after my Nuvaring FAIL this month, or should we DTD every day that we possibly can and hope for the best?  Here's what happened:

November 12 - took out ring

November 15 - started AF

November 20 - AF ended

December 1 - put in ring (I waited that long because DH's work schedule changed & I was trying to turn my AF around to when he would be gone for work -- we were still preventing at that point)

December 3 - decided to TTC, took out ring for two hours, then chickened out & put it back in, lol

December 4 - took out ring for good

December 8 - very light pink spotting on and off all day

December 9 - MAJOR AF started, cramps and HEAVY bleeding, moreso than normal for me

December 12 - bleeding stopped

Any ideas?

Congratulations to all the Mamas-to-be! What a special Christmas!

Just checking in as I'm waiting for AF to arrive after our flu plagued month. She should be here sometime at the end of the week/weekend.

Becoming, I have no advice. Did nuvaring for a bit after one of my miscarriages but I had super light AF on it and didn't get a period until the next one was due when I took it out. No spotting or anything for that month in between.
