Help! Wool cover got washed

In DH's defense, it doesn't look like the other pull on wool cover that we have (it snaps), but needless to say I was upset! It's brand new :( It's very stiff, but I went ahead and soaked in some lanolin/water. It's currently drying. Is there anything I need to do to it, or is it ruined forever?

If it's been shrunk past the point of being able to use it, I gave it to my DD to put on her dolls. My DH has thrown some covers I JUST made in the wash accidentally too. Not fun!

Thanks! I didn't know if the soap would mess up it's absorbency properties. I am going to re-lanolize it and try to stretch it out some more. It may just have to be used for daytime/thinner dipes instead of nighttime.  I'm now having issues with my other cover leaking (even after a fresh lanolin bath) on the right side, but I think it's just because the fitteds I used are super soaked and when he sleeps on that side (he nurses on his right side) it's too much for the cover. I don't really some of the nighttime fitteds that I have right now!

If you can still make it fit it should work fine with re lanolinizing. I'm using one now that used to be a medium but someone shrank it in the wash, sold it to me cheap, and it fits my newborn great.
