What do you think of these autism centers?

I'm wondering if anyone here has any experiance or knowledge of these two autism centers in Atlanta:

Marcus Institute

Emory Autism Center

I also called Hughes-Spalding (the childrens hospital) and they have an 11 month wait.  I'm new to all this and am lucky to have a few options in the city, but don't really know what I'm doing or what I'm looking for.  Can anyone share any insight?  thanks

I don't know where you are located, and I don't know anything about those specific places...but I'm in Chattanooga and my son sees Dr. Gargus at Siskin's Center for Developmental and Behaviorial Pediatrics.  She's a developmental behaviorial pediatrician, & there are OT's, PT's, ST's, and much more there. We've had a lot of success with the center there. There also is a place here called T.E.A.M., which is a center for Autism and other developmental disorders.

thanks for the input.  We are right in the city so we'll probably stay local.  Ds has his first screening appt this Friday and while he'll prob have a great time, I'm nervous.

I can understand being nervous, but you'll be right there with him the whole time.  At the center we go to, you can even watch (and hear) the therapists working w/the kids through 2 way mirrored glass, so if they want to observe or work w/him without you, you should be able to watch them. (-: Hope you are pleasantly surprised and get some helpful insight and expertise.

The Emory Autism Center has a famous inclusion-based school.  I once attended a lecture by the director of the school.  It is a highly respected center in the world of autism.
