Radian won't stay tightly installed.

I have two radians, one 65SL and one 80SL. The 65SL is installed FF with the seatbelt in my third row, the 80SL is installed RF with LATCH in my middle row. Neither one will stay tightly installed. It will be rock solid when I get it in and stay that way for a while, a few days or a week maybe but then I will notice that it is extremely loose, much more than 1" of wiggle room. I am hating these seats! I've never had this problem with any of my other seats (Britax and SafeGuard) and I don't know what to do about it. They're such a pain to install, too, so I hate that I have to redo it so often, and I can't just tighten them up, I have to totally reinstall.

Help??

I have a XTSL installed RF with a seatbelt and haven't had any problems with loosening. Even though it doesn't technically need it, I do think I get a more secure install with the locking clip. Try that, maybe?

How do your seatbelts lock?  If they are locking latchplates, the latchplate may be hitting the seat at the wrong angle to keep the belt parallel to the latchplate (which is what keeps it locked).  Flipping the male end 180 deg often will help this problem.  If not, then, yes, try a locking clip.  As far as the LATCH installed seat goes, lots of people are having problems with the SL LATCH straps not staying tight.  A quick search over on car-seat.org brings up quite a bit of info on this issue.

I have the same problem. I eventually got it but it was difficult to install the first few times and I still only take it out if I absolutely have to.

I have two XTSLs, and I have noticed my FF'ing one loosening when installed with LATCH.  I switched it to seatbelt and haven't had a problem since.  The RF'ing one has always been installed with the seatbelt since it gives me more room, and I have a very tight 3-across.

I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L, fwiw. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, they are always in really nice and tight when I install them.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong; there are many threads on car-seat dot org about Radians mysteriously loosening when installed with LATCH.  Also, I have noticed in several cars with leather that the Radians when RF keep reclining more over time, and that tends to loosen the install.

Yes I have been having problems with my Radian XT super latch loosening. The crazy thing is it was tight for almost a year and about a few months ago it started to loosen on it's own. It was installed RF and I thought it was DS's foot hitting the plate but now I believe it is a faulty Latch. Now have his seat installed with a seat belt and it is nice and tight and stays that way. I let Sunshine Kids know that my latch was loosening, they only sent me instructions on how to tighten the latch. Not very happy with SK's  response but have been to busy/sick to deal with it further.
